Jake Browning is going to be running for his life against Bama. Washington looked excellent against Colorado but now they're really going to be tested.

The Utes should welcome this news. One of these years, when the stars align, and they win the PAC 12 they would have a chance to play for it all.

an 8 team playoff would best best. champion of each of the p5 conferences, best of the group of 5, and 2 at large

Washington had the least resistance of these teams.

I'm glad UW is in, but their selection sends the wrong message about OOC games. They had nearly the lowest SOS out of conference.

And had OK not scheduled and gotten beat by OhIo St out of conference, they might be the #4 seed.

Your going to see the same 6-8 teams in the CFP year in year out from the BIG 10, ACC and SEC with a bone thrown to a PAC 12 or BIG 12 every once in a while. Why you ask, because THEY created the CFP and everyone else (all those supposed big boy P5 teams) are just in it for a show.

Love all the comments as they validate what I've posted since the CFP was created, a big joke! Now do you believe me when I say the rankings are all smoke and mirrors.

Thinkman - "We need a 16 team playoff in 2017."
This year, that means including six 3 loss teams and one 4 loss team. That's a bit watered down, don't you think?

"Oh and hey Big 12, how does this make you feel to be shut out again?"
They understand. "Win and you're in". They won last year, and got in. When your champion has two losses, you don't get in (See OU this year; Baylor/TCU 2 years ago).

Brave Sir Robin "conference championship games don't matter".
CCG has always been about money. CCG was an excuse to create an extra game on the schedule that they could sell to television. Because the CCG doesn't match up the conference's two best teams, an upset means the "champion" is not the best team.
CFP should include the best teams, not conference "champions".

Essentially what the CFP said today was that conference championship games don't matter. And, by extension, that the Big 12 was right to not expand.

What a joke. Don't qualify to win your own conference championship but get invite to natl championship? The love of money is ruining college football.

Thank you, Ohio State, for busting the MYTH that the Big12 needed to expand, or needs a Conference Championship Game.

The national so-called playoff is a joke.

Penn State fans no doubt are feeling jipped and feeling that the system is rigged. So much for the importance of the Big 10 Championship. Ohio State didn't have to play and they got to rest for another week and avoid possible injuries. What a joke we have for a college football system.

We need a 16 team playoff in 2017. Oh and hey Big 12, how does this make you feel to be shut out again?

Best of luck to all PAC 12 and p5 teams.

    Hopefully we show up.

This far the PAC 12 has been pathetic in out of conference games.

Wsu, one of best in PAC 12, lost to a division II team

Colorado, one of best in PAC 12, got worked by Michigan.

USC looked like a junior high school team against Alabama. At least other schools look like mid majors against Bama

PAC 12 doesn't have a single good out of conference win yet. Pathetic

    Let's change that.

Indiana is horrible. Utahs second string would beat them

Washington should of been placed in the 3rd seed with a Fiesta bowl appearance. What a set up, they now need to go from the Pacific Coastline, to the Atlantic Coastline.
