    We want trade with China, but as Trump points out China devaluates its currency the moment we become more competitive. Lower taxes, less regulation and fair trade will help us a lot. I see no improvement only serious deterioration under Hillary.

    if you don't think the tough trade talk resonates with enough Americans to make a difference, think again.

    The Democrats used to be the party of the working man... they are not anymore

    The Republicans (establishment versions) were never the party of the working man

    Along comes a populist (probably a faux populist)... but swing state votes matter, the electoral college matters... so you better watch out.

    @Thid Barker

    I believe that honest and open minded people will take your information into account when voting. You know those of us who are part of the basket full of deplorables.

    Not a big fan of Trump's style or rhetoric but the alternative is totally unacceptable.

    Nice article Paul but its not really China bringing economic and cutural pain to Americans, its Barack Obama. Consider these painful facts about our fundamentally transformed country under our current president;

    #1:23% of US children now live in poverty nearly double of what it was 8 years ago.

    #2:51 million Americans and/or illegal aliens are now dependent on food stamps-a record number.

    #3:Real unemployment is 10.3% with black youth unemployment has risen to over 30%.

    #4: Obama is the only US President in our history that has presided over an economy that has never achieved a 3% growth of our GNP. Last month the Dept of Commerce announced our economy has grown only around 1% this year so the trend is continuing.

    #5:Our national debt has doubled during his watch and is now greater than all the debt of all other presidents combined with no end in sight.

    #6: A record 94.7 million Americans are not in the work force.

    I could go on but the point is the real reason for Trump's success is Obama's failures! Ask any middle class American. Even if China is harming our economy Trump, knows how to deal with China far better than Hillary/Obama!

    Trump is in debt to China to the tune of $500,000,000. And somehow he's going to "get tough" on trade?

    Right after that he'll dance an Irish Jig on Broadway.

    There's a report on a news site describing various economists' assessment of a trump presidency. Including one from his old school. It's not good. His mixture of isolationism, tariffs, deportations, military spending and other economic policies are potentially disastrous. To the tune of a trillion dollars and millions of jobs lost.
