Shaun--I would guess that if the figures were available, the number of illegal Canadians involved in criminal acts would be less than the number of illegals from Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador involved in criminal acts. People, particularly law enforcement, do care about involvement in criminal acts.

I must be missing something. I have heard nothing about the "toughest race ever" here in Mesa. Yes, we hear about the latest charges against Arpaio and subsequent court matters, but we also hear about his efforts to keep us safe. Like it or not, it can easily be said that the Phoenix metropolitan area has illegal immigration, criminal, and deportation issues that must be dealt with. If not by the local PD or the federal government, then by whom??? This is where Sheriff Arpaio steps in and why he continues to get reelected. And he will be reelected.

John McCain and Joe Arpaio both have to go. It's clear to us that neither cares about party or people. Supreme Court Justices and politicians should not be in their position in their 80's. If they could have seen it best to step aside, perhaps this election would not have been lost to the Democrats. But of course, it's all about John and Joe. I'm glad Arizona voters will be able to send a resounding message to these two.

Someone has to prosecute and deport illegal aliens. Obama won't do it - Joe will. Keep up the good work, Joe.

He's only in trouble because of the progressive agenda that allows and champions illegal immigration. The Sheriff should be commended for his efforts to keep the Phoenix area safe from the illegal alien infestation and the associated criminal activity that happens because of it.

The laws in this country only apply to conservatives. Nothing special about this story, move along...

Sheriff Arpaio has saved countless lives by standing against the tide of criminality sweeping over Arizona.

Mexico, the US, and Canada all have an interest in a wall to stop the flow of drugs, the flow of criminals, the flow of terrorists in and out of their countries.

We should all stand shoulder to shoulder against criminality with a wholesome immigration process to protect all.

The current open border policy is not safe for any nation, the people who cross nor the people who live near the borders.

"Targeting people because of the color of their skin"? If you are looking for illegal immigrants from south of the border, do you look for them among white anglo-saxons?
