I would advise changing Skyridge's rating Mr. Parry. 31.5 is about what
you have for a mediocre 2A team. This school took talent from a 5A team,
including several starters. The number of athletes the school has to choose
from is also large. I'm not saying they will be good as they have to
compete in rugged Region 2 but I had a feeling they would beat Ridgeline because
they would get some pretty good athletes from Lehi and just have more athletes
You are welcome. How about changing your handle from Parry is a Farce. A little
harsh. Thanks for keeping an eye on the guide.
Bingham s rating is 120.7 making them no. 1., not 102.7. A typing error occurred
at the paper. Which has since been corrected. By way of explanation about the
guide, please go to parryspowerguide.com. The seasons starting rating is based
on how they finished last year with adjustments made for the number of returning
starters. It s great to have football back!
Bingham is ranked #1. The Deseret News miss typed there power rating number. It
is 120.7, not 102.7.
Yes, football is back! Here are my predictions for some week 1 marquee
games:Alta 34 Taylorsville 24 - Alta experience will pay dividends
this year.Bingham 41 Westlake 0 - Bingham D as good as advertised.Springville 21 Dixie 17 - Good, tight game between good teams.Herriman
27 Brighton 10 - Herriman gets ground game rolling.Jordan 31 Desert Hills
28 - Jordan ekes out a close one.Corner Canyon 24 Pleasant Grove 21 - PG
will have some growing pains this year.Riverton 31 Skyview 14 - Sky View
lost too much.Lone Peak 38 Bountiful 7 - LP offense is a juggernaut.West Jordan 31 Juan Diego 7 - West Jordan has a very strong team this year.Woods Cross 28 Maple Mountain 10 - Woods Cross experience wins out.Cottonwood 21 Olympus 20 - Cottonwood has some good talent.Hunter 20
American Fork 13 - Hunter too good in the trenches.
Calm down people. Who cares what the rankings are. It's all for fun. The
best part about high school football is they settle it on the field. Unlike
college football where they rig the system for the SEC.
I'm going Juan Diego over West Jordan and look for a possible upset with
Maple Mountain over Woods Cross. I don't see Ridgeline beat Skyridge by
all that much if at all.
A couple of thoughts. 1. No way is Herriman #1, and they will NOT
come close to winning 5A this year. No chance.2. Pleasant Grove by
19 points over Corner Canyon? No way.3. Bingham and East - clear
favorites. 4. Region 2 always stinks at state in football and hoops.
Count on it again this year. 5. Alta's RB is going to have a
monster year, if he can stay healthy.
Not sure what to think about the current rankings but to be honest I see both
Jordan and American Fork being very good this year and better than most writers
are predicting. Two years ago American Fork was picked to finish in the middle
of region 4 but ended up sweeping the region and losing to Bingham in the
championship. Not sure that either team is better than Bingham but time will
tell. Love this time of year!
How are the points figured?
