    You people do realize that if you mandate that transwomen use the men's room, you're also mandating that transmen use the women's room, right?

    @Thid Barker --

    "I will wager not one school princpal will go to jail"

    Of course they won't. I already said that.

    "We have a constitution in this nation and Obama is abusing it!"

    Nope. We have a constitution in this nation, and Obama is defending it. Equal protection, remember?

    @Rocket Science --

    "Riki Wilchins, a famous transsexual"

    Riki Wilchins doesn't speak for the entire LGBT population any more than Warren Jeffs speaks for the entire polygamist population. Nonetheless, she isn't actually saying what you claim she is.

    "Wilchins writes that the fact that we are arguing over male and female facilities is proof that we still have far to go-- there should be no gender distinctions in general. "

    No. What she's really saying is that gender shouldn't be regarded as distinct -- it is more of a scale than a binary. You're familiar with the Kinsey scale for sexual orientation? She's saying that gender is somewhat like that. There are people on each end of the scale, but there are also people at various points in the middle.

    @ Contrarius: We shall see how the courts rule on this. I will wager not one school princpal will go to jail for ignoring this stupid action! Obama isn't king. We have a constitution in this nation and Obama is abusing it!

    @Thid Barker --

    "The POTUS cannot write or re-write laws-like mandating transgender bathrooms!"

    He has not actually done any such thing.

    Obama is in charge of the executive branch of government. The Department of Education is in the executive branch. The president, the Attorney General, and the heads of the D of E have come together to issue a directive on executive branch policy. This is not a "law" -- school principals will not be thrown in jail if they fail to comply -- but the executive branch has the ultimate authority on how federal educational funding is distributed, and in compliance with Title IX, that funding will no longer be distributed to schools that insist on discriminating on the basis of gender, which includes gender identity.

    Yet again -- There are already multiple federal court decisions agreeing that gender identity is included in sex discrimination statutes, and those decisions started being made before Obama was even elected.

    This is more than just much ado about nothing. Consider:

    Riki Wilchins, a famous transsexual recently wrote an article in the gay publication The Advocate titled; "We'll Win the Bathroom Battle When the Binary Burns," . Wilchins says the real goal is to kill the notion of male and female altogether. The ‘binary’ refers to gender distinction, and getting rid of the “heterobinary structure” is the goal. Wilchins writes that the fact that we are arguing over male and female facilities is proof that we still have far to go-- there should be no gender distinctions in general. So the fact that there are even intimate facilities that reflect the “binary” truth about gender should change, Wilchins wrote.

    @ Owen: For the 20 trillionth time, it isn't the NUMBER of executive actions, its the content of them! The POTUS cannot write or re-write laws-like mandating transgender bathrooms! Congress alone writes laws, the POTUS enforces them (not just the ones he likes) and the SCOTUS decides if the laws congress passes are constitutional. Obama is way out of line and is clearly abusing his power! Perhaps now you can understand why so many freedom loving Americans support Trump?

    @Hank Jr. -- Once again "...until Barack Hussein Obama took office and issued executive orders akin to fire sales ..." Nope. Obama is using them at about the slowest pace in a century. Look it up.

    @Observator
    Both Maine and Wisconsin have ultra conservative Governors and GOP led. It's no surprise that any of these states are on the list. They are being run by people who want to change the direction of our country, our courts and re-write the constitution.

    Can you imagine the horrible abuse a transgender person takes when going to school in one of the redneck or conservative states? There's no way I can imagine anyone wanting to go through that just to go into a different bathroom.
    This is much ado about nothing.

    Well, Obama promised to "fundamentally transform America". But who knew the "transformation" would include our bathroom activites? Now the government goes with you when you go to the toilet!

    What this boils down to is:

    (Paraphrased)

    "We don't care if you don't like it, obey it or lose your federal funds."

    "Anyone's discomfort with this directive is just too bad."

    "You will address transgender students with the appropriate pronoun."

    "You will not deny a transgender student the use of locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, etc. for the gender they identify with.

    "There is no medical diagnosis or treatment requirement that students must meet as a prerequisite."

    Anyone wishing to get a real "eye-opener" on what this Department of Education directive is all about can download it, and the "Dear Colleague" letter via the internet.

    There has been no greater legalization of Perversion in our nation's history until Barack Hussein Obama took office and issued executive orders akin to fire sales in department stores.

    America needs Donald Trump to put out these fires.

    Note that Wisconsin and Maine, hardly bastions of conservatism, are also signatories to the suit. The issue has as much to do with federal vs. state control of the school system as anything else.

    Once again Utah is looking like the backwoods regime that it is. Thank You Utah for joining the other pro-discrimination states in fighting against the constitution.

    We need to waste more taxpayer money fighting unconstitutional battles. I can't believe how embarrassing the past 8 years have been. Thanks Utah.

    Good for all those states, we need to stick up for what is right. I can't believe how far we have fallen in the past 8 years. Thanks Obama.

    Once again the Obama administration is looking like the tyrannical undemocratic regime that they are. Thank You Utah for joining the other freedom loving states in fighting for the constitution.
