The reason you have no details is because it never happened. That is a fabricated story floating around the right wing blogosphere. The facts are that these actions expand the number of gun dealers that are now required to d background checks and requires the FBI to share information and resources to assist state and local law enforcement to go after felons and others already barred that try to purchase guns. In other words resources to assist law enforcement to enforce current laws, a battle cry of gun supports for sometime.

    Re Tolstoy

Not true. Doctors are now being paid to report if their patients are a danger. One report and that person's guns will be confiscated or anyone living with that person will have their guns confiscated.

I haven't heard the details yet but given that the president wanted to make it so anyone on the no fly list couldn't have a gun. It would be surprising if his new gun confiscation scheme involves due process.

Congress / a future president needs to permanently undo what president Obama has done.

Isn't Lee one of the Republican Senators who has said all along, "We don't need any more gun laws. We just have to enforce the ones already on the books?"

Well, that's all President Obama is doing. The Executive Branch enforces the laws, it doesn't make them. Congress does. The President's Executive Order only directs agencies to better implement those existing laws. And now Senator Lee is essentially saying, "No, we don't need to enforce those laws."

Nothing Obama did is going to lead to YOUR guns being taken away.

In justifying what he's done on guns president Obama mentioned the gun violence in Chicago.

If that is a major concern to you, given that you are not bound very tight by the Constitution, why don't you ( Mr. President ) go after the gangs in Chicago? Confiscate THEIR guns.

It may not help much but at least it is one of many steps needed in the right direction. We have been waiting and waiting for the do nothing congress so rather then dish on Obama why don't you focus on doing something that will change things Lee?

Here's your pushback: You're right, it changes little. We need more, real control. No, not take all your, or my, guns away. But we can do better than this.

As a long time Utahan, Senator Lee really disappoints me. The difference between Obama and Lee is one will only be around for 8 years and the other is likely to be around for 30.
