@taylormade1Stanford could have won the national championship if they got
in. They were conference champs in the tough PAC 12. They deserved a shot.
You do have a solid point about the 2-4 bowl record against P5 schools.
The other 4 teams played weak competition, and as one would expect, won.
Ft,What games have you been watching ???? The pac12 is to be commended
for their bowl record against mid major teams but a 2-4 record against p5
conference teams !! That is just awful as it looks like the conference is closer
to mid major than they are p5 . And finally NO Stanford should have not been in
the playoffs with 2 losses ! Ohio State the 2015 Defending National Champs are
the team that got outright shafted in this years playoff end of story !!!
SanefanWellsville, UT"First, due to actually how weak the
PAC 12 was this year, Bowl games don't count, Stanford was dragged down in
the rankings."Sanefan, please explain to this board how/why bowl
games don't count. Don't count in what? Do they not count because you
said so? Where do you come up with declarations like that?? The
Pac-12 was solid top to bottom this year. East Coast Ute is correct, the parity
across the conference is the reason Pac-12 teams beat up each other. Tough,
tough conference...a claim that cannot be made by the ACC and especially not the
Big12! You are correct about the playoffs, one P5 conference will
get left out. That's just the way it is.
Sanefan: "First, due to actually how weak the PAC 12 was this year, Bowl
games don't count, Stanford was dragged down in the rankings."Hustle your evidence. Stanford was the highest-ranked 2-loss team. The fact
that there is any argument as to whether a 2-loss team should be in the playoffs
with 6 1-loss or unbeaten P5 teams out there is a testament to the
McCafferty should have won the Heisman and yes, Stanford should probably have
been in the playoffs. But two things are at play here. First, due to actually
how weak the PAC 12 was this year, Bowl games don't count, Stanford was
dragged down in the rankings. Secondly and more important, there are only 4
spots and there are 5 conferences that really have a legit shot. Someone has to
be left out every year and it could be 2 teams the way the SEC gets favored.
Last year it was the BIG 12, this year the PAC 12. It is what it is in todays
world of Professional College Football.
The PAC 12 ate itself this year but they definitely have proved to the rest of
the nation this bowl season that they are the conference of champions.
McCafferty should have won the Heisman and Stanford, on the strength of the PAC
12, should have been in the playoffs.
So that's what a senior QB looks like? Nice to see a coach who uses his
talent to their fullest potential. An offense with more than one weapon is a
great idea! Shaw is able to adapt to his talent instead of always pounding a
square peg into a round hole. Huge lessons to be learned, I hope someone on the
(Dr.) Hill was watching.....
McCaffery was outstanding. Loved the fake fumble for a TD :)
Please Holmoe,Get BYU into the BIG-12, BIG-10, BIG-8 or whatever you want
to call it at this point. Just get into a conference.
@CDM1525,What game were you watching?????? LOL!!!
Oklahoma and Michigan State were terrible. Stanford should have been
in the playoff. The Big 12 needs to be pentalized for not having a
championship game. With only 10 teams they had 4 awful bottom feeders this year.
Michigan State was just plain lucky this year with wins over
Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa. Unbeivable how they won those three games.
Especially the Michigan game.
Iowa won the 2nd half. Stanford definitely not the better team.
