I have a cousin who tells me if he ever gets lost in the woods to just look for the forest fire! Probably overkill. How about just a good bonfire with green leaves thrown in to make more smoke?

I wonder if faith is also part of relying on what God has taught us and the life experiences that God gives us. Thus we become prepared by the faith we have put in God in the past and the faith that God has been watching over us our whole lives. And also, that God has prepared others to help find us.

Sometimes people forget that God uses people to preform miracles.

It's nice to read about survivors "relying" on faith. However I seemed to read about their past mountaineering experience and the hard work of the researchers. They has shelter and they had food. They knew where to pitch their tent and how to ration. I wonder if those who get lost and are found too late had no faith.

Oh dear. Did they say they trusted in God?
The secularists will have to parse that out of the story.
