    HeyRedShirtHarvard -

"You can keep spouting your hatred of Bush, but it was Obama that dropped the ball on this one."

Oh, a sports metaphor huh? Football?

    Obama dropped the ball?

. . . When the other team was ahead infinity to nothing?

Obama didn't drop any ball, but he had the good sense to cut American losses.

Republican leaders have still not developed enough sense to do that.

Their solution is to keep doubling down on losing strategies . . . NOT smart.

To "GaryO" remind us again who didn't go after ISIL when it was the JV team and could have easily been defeated. I will give you a hint, it wasn't BUSH. According to some of the fringe liberals, the rise of ISIS is due to climate change. However, if you look at who the Commander in Chief was when ISIS was a small and easily destroyed group, you will see that it wasn't a Republican.

You can keep spouting your hatred of Bush, but it was Obama that dropped the ball on this one.

    Hey Redshirt -

"To "GaryO" remind us again who was so eager to pull out of Iraq, and who it was that told us that ISIL is part of the JV team and isn't anything to worry about?"

    LOL . . .

Way to lash out with non sequiturs.

ISIL was a JV team, back when it was JV team. Even Michael Jordan was on a JV team before he made the varsity. And guess what, MJ didn’t even start.

    Things change.

ISIL has an IDEA that is extremely attractive to certain people, and they rally around that idea. By deposing and killing Saddam, GW Bush left a power vacuum. Al Qadah filled it. And ISIL branched off from Al Qadah.

ISIL has legions of impressionable souls at its command, many of whom lost family and loved ones in GW’s war.

Republican malfeasance built the power base FOR ISIL.

And how much longer did you want to stay in Iraq? Another 10 years? 50?

The joke of a government GW built could NEVER survive on its own.

    Hey RedShirt -

"You do realize that ISIS grew from something that a squad of special forces could have taken out to its current size during the time that your beloved Obama has been in office."

WRONG. An idea can’t be wiped out by a squad of special forces. Few of the original members remain alive, but ISIL is stronger than ever. They crave revenge.

"Obama told us . . . that the region was stable."

And it was . . . in a limited way.

But we shouldn’t forget that Iraq was much, much more stable and self reliant before Republican geniuses DESTROYED that stability.

If stability in Iraq requires a perpetual and significant American military presence, then that kind of stability it is certainly no victory for America, is it?

GW’s little romp through Iraq was a complete and utter FAILURE from the very beginning. We achieved NONE of the initial goals.

That war succeeded only in destabilizing the area and creating millions of dedicated enemies to this nation.

That's what we can expect from "Conservative" leadership, isn't it?

To "GaryO" really? You do realize that ISIS grew from something that a squad of special forces could have taken out to its current size during the time that your beloved Obama has been in office. You do remember that during the 2012 elections that Obama told us the war on terror was coming to an end and that the region was stable.

We know you hate Bush, but you really should read about how ISIS grew because of Obama's actions.

Republican leadership is a gift that keeps on giving, doesn't it?

Six years after the horrendous GW Bush administration, its legacy lives on.

GW launched a war under false pretenses, thus guaranteeing his own re-election at the expense of this nation and the entire world.

The Islamic State would not exist if it were not for that lying Republican administration and its conquest of Iraq, the murder of its leader, the consequent power vacuum quickly filled by Al Qaedah, the obliteration of a nation's infrastructure, and the deaths of over 4 thousand American service members and over 100 thousand Iraqis.

How many terrorists do you suppose GW created? How many of US would not pledge a blood vendetta against a foreign power and its people who bombed us to smithereens? . . . And started a war that resulted in the deaths of our friends and families?

And now ISIL is taunting us. GW's boys in Iraq and Syria are taunting us . . . Beheading westerners and Christians, and destroying priceless relics . . . Practically begging us to put American boots on the ground in force.

And who is it that wants to do their bidding?

You got it . . . Republican leaders.
