The inner child in me likes a good explosion, a 'hero' with super
powers and some of that science/fantasy goodness that goes along with it. But
there is a weighted scale involved. Art vs Money.Christopher Nolan
transformed batman into something much more. I can't say the same for any
other comic film. They found a format. They like it. They are reproducing it.
And we're paying for it. Once you've had enough repetition what you
want most is variety. Marvel announcing a lengthy line up to me says they are
worried about maintaining what they have. I would worry too because comic films
have outstayed their welcome a bit. Innovation doesn't mean Spider man
1-2-3 then rebooting and doing a whole new 1-2-3. Innovation would mean they had
a new idea for a change. This is why any sense of maturity in the format is
gone. Ironically, I've started thinking that maturity in the genre is in
question also.My inner child lives. But Michael Bay is killing that
child. It's time for something better. Something more.
