    Ballmer did overpay. But he has made his Billions and simply wanted to blow away his competition with an amazing offer.

    Who amongst us would turned him down? "Nah, a billion dollars is enough. I don't need the extra money."

    Someone from Richfield Utah is second guessing the business judgment of a man who helped run Microsoft? That's kind of amazing.

    Considering how much Ballmer paid for the team, one has to wonder about his basketball and overall business savvy.

    $2 billion is 3 times what the NBA had recently estimated the market value of the Clippers to be. In actuality, he probably could've gotten the team for "only" $1 billion, which would've been nearly 50% more than the estimated value of the team and still a record amount paid for any professional team ever in America.

    But hey... what's an extra billion here or there between friends.

    The previous (and recently despised) team owners came out of this smelling like a rose.
