This is what happens when you don't finish the job.

The buck stops with the commander.

Obama is doing nothing more than what GW did, and for the same reasons. Obama is the one who left totally and opened the door to this current situation. And now it is on Obamas head what happens from here on out. We who read you will know how bad it is going for Obama by how many times you say Bush. And the same rational you use to say Bush created a lot of people wanting to avenge the deaths will also be applied to Obama as he has now engaged the same Sunni/ISIS gang.

P.S. Yes Gore should have been President in 2000, and would have been except for that useless electoral college. We should get rid of it, as its reason for existence has long passed. That from one who voted for Bush.

Even the AP, one of the many cheerleaders for BO, thinks BO is setting the stage for our return. For the AP to come to this conclusion, there must be something to it.

Iraq was relatively stable when bush left office – it has been during the BO misadministration that the situation has deteriorated.

You are correct, BO has wasted all the lives and treasure we spent in Iraq. Whether it was a good decision to go in or not, it is disgraceful that BO has let it all go to waste.

4,500 American soldiers died in Iraq.

And for what? Our commander didn't follow through, and was more concerned for political elections.

Perhaps he can right a wrong.

    SCFan -

Your chain of thought is completely inconsistent with the facts.

"maybe Bush was not so wrong to engage the bad guys"

GW Bush was and IS one of the bad guys. He made the rest of us the bad guys too.

Because of GW's WMD lies, America engaged in an UNPROVOKED attack against Iraq and killed over a hundred thousand of their people, mostly Sunnis.

And now ISIS, all Sunnis with an intense desire to avenge those 100 thousand dead, has in its control tons of advanced weaponry given to Iraq by the Bush administration.

Obama's surgical attacks involving little risk to us are not even remotely like GW's senseless invasion and occupation of a nation.

"Obama is in a horrible situation?"

No he's not. He's in a position of relative control . . . Taking advantage of every opportunity to strengthen America's hand . . . The horrible hand dealt to us by GW Bush and company.

It's interesting to realize, isn't it? . . . All this carnage, mayhem, and horrible mismanagement could have been avoided if Gore had been elected President back in 2000.

Mountanman There were no Jihadis in Iraq until Bush stupidly invaded. Just as there were no weapons of mass destruction. George threw open the borders when he dismantled their Army, and the Jihadis came running. If you refuse to see how stupid and counterproductive it was to destroy Irans only enemy in the region. If you refuse to see how it bankrupted our country, and cost the lives of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqs citizens, then no wonder you vote for Republicans. And BTW Bush was the one that produced the treaty that called for our exit from Iraq. But go ahead and blame Obama.

barry continues to display a patheic role of "leadership". but you really can't blame him as his experience hanging posters on telephone poles as a community organizer does translate into leadership skills.

You are certainly trying to put lipstick on this pig. Obama is in a horrible situation, and his left wing will either have to admit that maybe Bush was not so wrong to engage the bad guys, who you readily admit want to destroy America. That fact by the way goes back a lot longer than Bush. It has been a part of their agenda ever since the U.S and Isreal have been partnered. Or the left wing will simply have to hold to their no war policy and back off Obama. I see it going both ways, some will hold with Obama on this and somehow try to distance his actions from Bush, which will require impossible logic. You seem to be there, so good luck, but this is Obamas war now. No more can Bush be blamed as much as you want to. Or Obamas strident anti war supporters will just have to admit that Obama has turned out to be far far from what they hoped and expected. Looks like a lose/lose for Obama, even though he is doing the right thing. As was Bush, I might add.

BO's posture of weakness caused this problem. he has no one to blame but himself.

Never again can a liberal condemn GWB for saving innocent civilians in Iraq from being mass murdered without being a blatent hypocrite! In reality, under GWB's leadership the military defeated the jihadists in Iraq until Obama's mismanagement abandoned the people and gave ISIS the freedom to invade, murder and plunder! This is now Obama's war! For that reason, I have little hope for the good people of Iraq!

" Obama puts US on brink of Iraq return"

Not really. He's making surgical airstrikes with little risk to us, but of great benefit to Kurdish civilians who would otherwise be murdered by ISIS.

Obama is doing the right thing. Here we have a situation where we can use our air power to its best surgical advantage.

The Kurds are in trouble, and we have an EASY opportunity to prevent genocide against them.

In case you don't realize it . . . Shiites want to wipe out America. (We are their "Great Satan," remember?) And the Sunnis want to wipe out America, especially after GW's unprovoked war against Iraq that killed 100 thousand of them.

But the Kurdish people are that rare ethnic group in Iraq who actually like America and Americans.

So if we can help them, then why not?

ISIS was moving heavy artillery to bombard Kurdish Civilians . . . And the US Cavalry came to their rescue in the nick of time . . . Sending ISIS soldiers to paradise by the score.

Well good for us! And good for President Obama. And good for ISIS. After all, how bad can paradise be?

    . . . Looks like a win/win/win situation to me.
