@ utefan60, happy valley heretic, ft and garyO:

There is no legitimate comparison between McCaine's situation and Bergdahl's. The first was a true war hero and the latter was basically a traitor per his own admission of facts. If he had a decent defense to his actions, Obama would've had it all over in the media by now. But there is no answer to Bergdahl's actions, so Obama is remaining quiet and hoping everyone will soon forget about his ill-advised and give-away swap.

It's almost pathetic to read the extent that Obama apologists will go to in making excuses for his ridiculous actions. The funny thing is, is that some of them almost seem to believe the excuses they come up with. Thankfully, polls show that most Americans don't buy into such actions. That's why Obama's poll numbers are now at all-time lows. And for good reason.

There are 3 facts that are not even debatable...

    1) Bergdahl left on his own accord. As such, he deserted his unit when officially going AWOL.

    2) The enemy (Taliban) celebrated after the swap and publically declared that they got the better deal and had out-foxed the Americans. As such, they didn't leave much to celebrate from our end of things. Based on things the Taliban said, they probably would've swapped for only 1 or 2 of their higher ranking officials instead of the 5 we agreed to. It's little wonder they celebrated and laughed at us afterwards.

    3. This is the first time in modern day history that we have officially negotiated with terrorists. Not a good precedent. Terrorists are now more likely to kidnap Americans to negotiate with again in the future.

Considering all 3 facts... this was not a smart move by the Obama administration.

Pathetic, political, US security-endangering move by BO

What a complete coward BO is, with nothing but politically motivated grandstanding.

    Hey Worf -

“Our soldier was not a prisoner. He made a decision to go, and live there.”

Oh I see . . . . So the guy has a bondage fetish, Right?

I’ve heard about that sort of thing . . . Seems kind of extremist to me though.

He wanted to be incarcerated in a tiny little box, and then ritually abused by Taliban thugs . . . And of course the Taliban complied because they’re into Sado-Masochism, bondage, and the whole master-slave thing.

Tell me . . . did this involve leather whips and chaps?

Our soldier was not a prisoner. He made a decision to go, and live there.

These five Hitler types of terrorists, has previously killed tens of thousands. Do the research!

"isn't even a drop in the bucket"? GaryO! You're amazing

I for one am very happy that our government fulfilled it's commitment and brought home one of our own. McCain was brought home during the Vietnam war with a prisoner exchange. This is only a mean spirited political ploy.

Without all the facts these men believe in leaving our servicemen behind, great message.

    Hey Worf -

"Five Hitler types of terrorists who have vowed to kill Americans if freed."

Yes, and they can join the tens of thousands of other terrorists America has created in the Mid East since 2003 . . . When GW attacked a nation that did not attack us first . . . And killed over ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND of their people.

Now, tens of thousands of their enraged friends and relatives are dedicated to the death of America and Americans.

Five more isn't even a drop in the bucket.

I just love it when the Tea-Party infested House of Representatives shows its true stripes.

Obama traded 5 Taliban thugs for an American servicemen. Obama left no man behind as consistent with the soldiers' creed, common sense, and basic humanity.

And Republicans absolutely DESPISE him for it.

That in turn shows how out of touch Republicans really are with common sense and basic humanity.

    Thanks for the demonstration Repubs.

As a result of that demonstration, even more sensible voters will sensibly cross over to the Democratic side . . . The side of common sense and humanity.

Israel has traded up to 1,000 terrorists for one soldier. But over there, when they say "thank you for your service". Its more then just empty words.
