What else is new inside the political game show, the blame game. All politicians are pathetic, but I still cast my ballot to honor my civic obligations.

    This article is ludicrous!

First off, why is the fund depleated in the first place?
Second, there are no tax loopholes for corps to close?
Obama is lying to you and you are buying it hook, line and Sinker!

Companies like Apple with $100's of billions in overseas accounts are not bringing that cash back here for good reason....there are no tax breaks for corp's!

Now go re-write your story! This time use some common sense!

If presidents served three year terms, and everyone else two:

We wouldn't have the mess we have today. Period!

Political office is a service to the country. Not a career!

    Long terms breed corruption.

Remember the "stimulus"? That was supposed to go into roads, bridges, infrastructure and shovel ready jobs. Yeah, I guess that really worked out. Let's add another trillion to the debt and do it all over again. Makes sense. Might as well spend all you can before declaring bankruptcy.

All the cars in this country at the gas pumps paying taxes.

Plenty of money to fix the roads!

Funds not being managed honestly, and we're being scammed!

    Why do Americans allow this?

new Quinnipiac University survey out today found American voters named BO the worst president since WWII, even worse than the bush you liberlas love to vilify so much.

some day you too should realize just what a mistake BO has been.

To "steamroller" what mess did Obama inherit? Last I checked Obama was a senator, and was part of the governing body of the Federal Government. Again, why give Obama a pass just because he is your sainted politician?

But then again, what problems has Obama actually fixed in the past 5 years? Has he achieved the world peace that he was supposed to after getting the Nobel Prize? Have the ocean levels dropped? Are US troops still engaged in combat? Has unemployment returned to the Bush era average rate? Is health insurance cheaper now?

Please tell us, what has Obama actually fixed?

No Gary O. You are missing your cue! It was the GOP's fault the stimulus package got wasted and was never accounted for! Stay on Democrat message! No matter what, its always the GOP's fault for Obama's failures, always have been, always will be!

Leave it to an ultra-liberal to not be able to tell the difference between a small amount of food and a trillion dollars.
That's what is called scraping the bottom of the barrel in a lost-cause argument.

In case you aren't aware, Gary, a trillion is a million millions. Enough to create a million millionaires.
    That's a lot of money.
It's more than 98% of the world countries annual operating budgets.
And yet you claim it's not enough to fix our bridges and roads in a meaningful way??

    Hey Lost -

"why were the roads not fixed? - that's what a lot of it was supposed to do."

. . And that's a lot of what it did.

However, there are a LOT of roads and bridges in need of repair.

Jesus could feed the multitudes with a few fish and a few loaves of bread.

But you cant' realistically ask any President to match that feat.

If Obama's trillion dollar stimulus package was used for what he said it would be, then all the infrastructure work he is now proposing would already be done... and then some. But it wasn't.

BTW: Wikipedia didn't give an actual accounting of that stimulus money... but rather what it was supposed to be used for... what it was allocated for. There has never been any proof or actual accounting that it was. There's a big difference.

You should quit being so naive and apologetic when it comes to the president and his actions, or rather lack of actions. You're now in an ever-growing-smaller minority as the president's approval rating continues dropping on a month-by-month basis. There are now nearly twice as many people who disapprove of him and his actions as who approve. He wouldn't stand a chance in a re-election today. And he can't blame anyone but himself and the liberal advisors he listens to.

To "lket" so what you are saying is that because a few hundred people out of 350 million are able to earn more than you and pay less in income taxes, you want to revamp the whole system. You do know that many of those millionairs and billionairs are not earning much through salaries, but are doing so through investments. You too can get investment income, and most likely will pay less net to taxes on your investment income than the wealthy do.

yeah lets let the roads and streets fall apart and give more tax breaks to the rich sothey can coplain about how many of dont pay taxes are given everyhting free. well not me i paid 5000 to the goverment last year in a check. i dont have right offs. the rich do some billionaries pay less net to taxes than i do. that is sad. and many make their money by ruinninng trucks accross this country to stores and of bussiness. they profit from transport but the truck drivers pay for them with high fuel costs that are at record profit levels. they make money coming and going. the rich that is. wer are going third world in this country and people complain about a president that gets no help from congress at all. more no votes than any ever. less done than any ever. and the wars made most of the debt anyway.

    Copacetic -

"Obama passed an $850,000,000,000 stimulus package soon after coming into office to accomplish this exact same infrastructure building thing. And yet over two-thirds of that money is still unaccounted for."

ALL of that money in accounted for.

Only in Right Wing La La Land is that money not accounted for.

Ever heard of wikipedia? Check it out for an itemization of where the money went.

Obama passed an $850,000,000,000 stimulus package soon after coming into office to accomplish this exact same infrastructure building thing. And yet over two-thirds of that money is still unaccounted for. No one seems to know what happened to it or where it went. We still have very little to show for it, which is the reason this work effort still needs to be done.

So why should we believe it will be any different this time? What reasons has Obama given for believing him? Most of his campaign promises have gone unfulfilled and he was recently given Pinocchio awards by the Washington Post newspaper for lying while in office... particularly concerning Obamacare. All of this makes it difficult to believe this president... his words or his motives.

This infrastructure fixing sounds all well and good. But closing a few loopholes won't generate nearly as much funding as is needed to do this type of work at the level needed all across the country. Until sufficient funding can actually be found, then this is just a feel good initiative... perhaps in part to deflect attention away from all the other issues the administration is currently going through... including the just released latest bad news about Obamacare (read about it in it's own article just released online), in addition to the ongoing (almost daily) foreign policy debacles.

The last thing our country needs are initiatives that will vastly increase an already nearly out-of-control federal deficit that is quickly approaching $18 trillion ($18,000,000,000,000). This level of red-ink is truly hurting our current economy and very dangerous to longer term growth. I hate that we are passing such an issue on to the next generation to have to deal with, especially since it wasn't them who created or benefited from the uncontrolled level of spending that created it. Pure unthinking selfishness.

Excuse me, but weren't these supposed to have been repaired under Dear Leaders Stimulus...you know, shovel ready jobs? And some people voted for this guy twice?

A trillion dollars of "stimulus" money was supposed to fix all those "shovel ready" projects.

However, what we really have is shovel ready promises that are basically lies intended to dupe gullible people into voting for Democrats.

There is no more money to shovel into vote buying schemes, or even actual repair projects. We are $17.5 trillion in debt now double what it was when Obama took office, and all that spending has not only filed to deliver the cures which were promised, but virtually every measure of progress we are worse off.

More Obama programs will not fix anything, only make things worse, so we must oppose them any way possible!
