To "Mark B" actually that was quite different. Bush few over the storm damaged areas because he didn't want to get in the way of recovery efforts, nor did he want to take law enforcement people away from serving the people.

Meanwhile, what good does it do for Obama to go to California, besides having a great golf weekend?

Obama is currently enjoying some leisure time golfing in California, while Michelle is vacationing, and skiing at Vail Colorado.

Doesn't seem he cares much about the drought.

    Love the sarcasm!

Now a real observation. Farmers get no water, but every swimming pool, private and public, is full.

Do we think maybe California has its priorities messed up?

I do. I saw the same thing in 1990. The California Aquifer was full and flowing, but the farmers aren't allowed to use it. The water was for the cities, and their full swimming pools.

Federal money should come with a price tag of requiring all pools to be filled with sea water only. They have plenty of sea water.

Remember we will pay double for this. We will pay for aid through taxes, and we will pay more for food because the prices go up, all so city residents can swim in their own back yard. Tax money for swimming pools. Swimming pool welfare!

Maybe all you Obama "critics' (we won't say 'haters) would just like the President to fly over CA, get his picture taken gazing out the window and go home. Worked for GWB, didn't it?

OK, you beat me, but I do find it interesting that when you read Obama supporters here they don't defend what the President is doing. They only say that we critics are haters. I hope that tells them what I am sure it tells you and me. There is no defense of Obamas actions, and they won't go out of the way to try to defend him. Only shoot the messenger.

Wow! THe haters are out in force when all the President wants is to see what he and the federal government can do to help out in a drought disaster area.

    Careful now!

Obama's attention doesn't change anything to gold.

Federal aid won't make it rain.

It means more tax money to bail out Californians.

To "SCfan" I think I can beat you.

Obama's trip to California is a waste of time. He should just sign an executive order declaring that all clouds passing over California should dump more rain into the drout stricken area.

If that doesn't work, maybe he should write a bill declaring that California is to no longer be in a drout and have congress vote on it before reading it.

If all of that doesn't work, a good option to get snow pack levels up to needed depths is to have a global warming confrence. It always seems like when major global warming confrences are held that the weather turns cold and it snows more.

    Mark B

Obama warrents such sarcasm because we all know the real reason he is going to California. To play golf. California is the only state that has available golf courses right now. He is getting out of the blizzard going on back east. And I do find it interesting that the Democrats reject any idea about easing up on water flow aimed at saving some little fish species, putting human beings behind them in importance. What is all this federal aid supposed to do for the people in the drought anyway? Bring in bottled water? How's that for sarcasm. Now I'm number one for the day.
