God bless them and I'm happy their marrying. Hopefully the world will leave them alone to enjoy a happy family life. Their private life is none of our business unless they choose to share it.

Nice the man could marry and enjoy raising the child with the mother.
That seems a natural part of life to me and I wish them well.

This is a one sided point of view. I do think that people make mistakes, but the story does not expound on how this all happened. To speak of such horrible accusations about someone and use credible information. Shouldn't it be a little bit better than " credible". Another thing that I think is a dirty trick is to talk about the sins of two different people at the same time. Don't mention "pedophile" when it has nothing to do with the priest. That isn't right!

Some people's lives have been destroyed because somebody got on their high horse and decided to play judge! I really didn't like the tone used. Yeah, it happened to me in the LDS Church. Guess what, none of it was true! I hadn't done any of the sexual sins my friends and fellow members talked about! I have never went back and through the years I have paid such a lot. I see people doing it without a thought. Their sin is worse, to me! They make people pay for years! They do the damage and then they walk away as if they done nothing! Wicked thing to do!

This story made my head hurt…

Is the purpose of detailing Williams’ leaving the priesthood with those of the Legion of Christ founder to somehow create a moral equivalency between a man fathering a child (who has now married the mother) and a known pedophile?

If this is even a fraction of the motivation here, then the moral compass of the Catholic Church is damaged beyond repair.

Not surprising though for an institution that claims Martin Luther is burning in hell – I suspect more for marrying a nun than nailing his thesis to a church door – and that only ever excommunicated one top Nazi (most of which were “good, upstanding” Catholics) for the egregious offense of marrying a Protestant.

The pass religion continues to get in our society is embarrassing, but sadly not shocking.

Marrying the mother of your child, Oh that other men in this circumstance had the same integrity.
