At least 47% of the people no longer believe they are responsible for taking care of themselves. Someone else is supposed to take care of their every want, need or desire. "Someone," of course, being the government, which really means the people foolish enough to work and pay taxes.

The concept of saving for later needs, or even prioritizing ones needs, wants and desires and ONLY buying what you can afford is regarded by too many as some sort of quaint notion among our ancestors. Instant gratification, with no need to ever worry about paying the bills, is the lifestyle of too many American politicians, and too many citizens used to living on the liberal welfare plantation.

It's rich people's responsibility to pay my bills anyways. Mitt Romney should have to pay for most of the government benefits I use since he is rich. If I am poor he should be forced to pay for my retirement.

it is hard to prepare for retirement when you spend all your time and money trying to just keep your head above finical water.
