    "They need to break ties with republicans and be a pure party of constitutional ideals."

    That party already exists. It is called the Libertarian party.

    The "business" Republican's opposition to Sen Cruz & Sen Lee seems much like the Tory opposition of those signing the Declaration of Independence and blaming them for the Revolutionary War. Of course they were responsible for the Revolutionary War, but they stood up for what they believed or there would be no United States of America. Well done Senator Cruz, Lee and those in the House that had the courage to oppose a failing government, let by Pres. Obama.

    Cruz is conducting a kind of "Triumphal Defeat" tour. The government shutdown cost the economy billions, and the GOP got exactly nothing from it except public derision. But that doesn't stop Ted, who now joins the "pretend winner' club.

    @Smokey Lonesome
    "I believe their numbers will grow substantially in the next election cycle"

    The Tea Party is scoring their lowest favorability marks ever in recent polls. I suppose they could pick up a few seats in those heavily gerrymandered Republican districts though. Maybe they can let Dems keep or take a few more Senate seats like they did in Missouri (Akin), Indiana (Mourdock), Delaware (O'Donnell), Colorado (I forget who they used in that one...), and Nevada (Angle).

    The way the Tea Party raises the hair on the neck of Democrats and Republicans alike is evidence of their effectiveness. I believe their numbers will grow substantially in the next election cycle and offices held will increase many times over. They need to break ties with republicans and be a pure party of constitutional ideals. The RINOS have shown their true colors!

    I know one thing that "means for the Country" is that if this guy is nominated by the Teapublican party, we are in for at least four more years of a Democrat in the White House and that in turn would mean that almost for sure a liberal majority on the Supreme Court. Be careful what you wish for!

    Cruz is doing what we need in Comgress. He is standing for principle and eventually more voters will come to appreciate his fight for the Constitution, less spending and smaller, less intrusive government. What is wrong with that, unless you are for those things? Are you? Do you know what that means for the country?
