    Go ahead, espouse the trades, they are a great option. But realize that tradesmen work for people who possess that college diploma. I tell kids to go for a two-year degree or certificate minimum. Looking long-term, college grads earn MUCH MORE than their colleagues in the same field who lack the diploma. Life satisfaction is enhanced. Job mobility is increased.

    Why harp on about college costs all the time. Any true fix of the problem would be socialism in todays' political climate. Besides, if you want a job that's going to pay and last, the trades are where it's at.
