"borrowing of trillions more from China."

Did you say trillions MORE (plural)? How much do you actually think we owe China? All $16 trillion?

Before you make arguments with false claims and hyperbole, you should check the facts- China only owns about 8% of the total debt of the United States, about $1.3 trillion. They are the largest foreign holder of our debt (Japan is #2 at about $1.1 trillion, and #3 is the Caribbean Banking Centers at about $290 billion).

Does that make the debt better? No, but rather than make it sound like China owns us and is going to send in the Red Army as the debt collector, try to understand who actually owns the debt.

The vast majority of our national debt is own by who?

Drumroll please.... that's right. We owe most of our debt to ourselves.

Yes. Get out of that expensive house. They are in a home they cannot afford and need to make drastic adjustments.
If they don't they will just build up more debt, pay higher interest rates, and risk losing it ALL...just because they were trying to pay for a house they should never have tried to own in the first place.
Obamacare is like adding a hot tub, swimming pool and theater room to that house they cannot afford in the first place!

Does a family stop paying the mortgage and lose their house to balance the budget?

It would be good for America if the government was temporarily shut down! Which is better, cut spending or go eventually go bankrupt which would be a permanent shut down?

    " TAXES

"Americans would still have to pay their taxes and file federal tax returns, but the Internal Revenue Service says it would suspend all audits. Got questions? Sorry, the IRS says taxpayer services, including toll-free help lines, would be shut as well."

Well, duuhhhh. We KNOW that. It matters not how little or how poor government services we receive, whether or not babies or disabled people starve, or I can go to Yosemite, or life-saving medical research continues, or the military personnel protecting us get paid, or mail is delivered; taxes must be paid. Above all, no matter how incompetent, inept, greedy, self-serving, power-crazed, and out of touch with real people our professional politicians are, we can feel comfortable and cozy in the assurance that God is in His Heaven and taxes must be paid.

After all, someone has to finance the circus going on in Washington.

So passports, etc. will continue to be processed since they collect a fee? What about national parks. Unless system is completely bloated, several national parks should be taking in enough money from entrance fees to pay the park rangers that are supposed to patrol and upkeep them.

Irresponsibility on a national basis. Why does not the tea party simply start barricading roads and burning things?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the world as we know it will end if Obamacare is not funded but everything else is, and the Senate refuses to accept that deal.

How do these inconveniences compare with the consequences of destruction of our healthcare system, coupled with bankruptcy of our nation, which will inevitably result in horrendous inflation, destroying every bit of saving anyone has done?

Federal spending must be curtailed, and allowing Obamacare and its skyrocketing costs to add to the debt cannot be tolerated.

But, this kabuki theater will all be repeated in a couple of weeks when the debt ceiling debate starts and Granny won't get her check and TSA will shut the airports if we do not authorize borrowing of trillions more from China. (To be paid back by The Children in the future, for the "free stuff" we are giving away today...)

    Shut 'er down!
