    On the whole I am not at all surprised by these figures. Transportation costs have increased: gasoline has increased in price hasn't it? I don't think that cars are any cheaper either and fares only go up, not down.

    As the recession is prolonged people who are blessed to have work feel the need to extend charitable contributions to those in need, so they are increased.

    I take it that "Other" expenditures, a few thousand dollars annually, is mostly the category in which property tax and sales tax falls. Sounds about right.
