    Mr. Scott, I understand your humor and I don't know the answers to all the problems but the actual threat in the Middle East is Iran. How are they playing this is more important than what the US interests are. I suggest you scare your self to death by reading "The Devil we know: Dealing with the new Iranian Superpower".
    Syria is Iran's puppet in the area. Iran is at war with us even if we don't recognize it. Read: The Twilight war; The secret history of America's Thirty Year war with Iran.
    Iran is playing this Syrian Civil war for it's own benefit. How we deal with it is more important than the civil war it's self. Do nothing and we lose respect and influence in the middle east. Do something and we are painted as ineffectual, interfering and we lose respect and influence. If Iraq was about oil, we lost. Iran controls all of Iraq's oil now. You should be afraid, very afraid.

    I guess no other readers even noticed this article to comment on it. I just wanted to say that things seem to be going so well in Afghanistan since Bush went in and Obama stayed in. Let's do it again in Syria.
