@ mohokat: Zimmerman told the police it was a stand your ground shooting and they took him at his word - there was no investigation to verify it.

And again - the Georgia shooting received nation-wide media coverage at the time it occurred.

When justice has been pursued, there is no reason to raise a ruckus to draw attention to a lack of justice.

@ Kalindra Nice smoke screen. Zimmerman was investigated and then when the race baiters started their rants it was re investigated. Same results. Only pressure to prosecute from those race baiters got it to trial. Race baiters like If I had a son he would look like Treyvon.Treyvon could have been me. You know the hype. Al Sharpton, Jesse (the shake down) Jackson. Where was all of that in this case?

@ mohokat: This story, unlike the Trayvon Martin shooting, was covered nation-wide when it occurred - including a story in this paper when the suspects were arrested the day after the shooting.

Which brings up another difference between the two incidents - this shooting was fully investigated. George Zimmerman was not investigated when he shot Trayvon until a month later - after the family raised a ruckus and newspapers started reporting on the story.

There may be a double standard - but not in the direction you think.

The media (thats a good one) has been asleep on this one. Not like they were on the Zimmerman case. A little double standard???
