Agree with 78. Remember the Smart case. This guy had already killed her mother and brother. Besides the people already recognised that something was not right. She and her dad have a lot of healing. Our prayers to them. By the suspect being killed it is several years of court procedings saved..

TruthBTold that is messed up. There was information released from her friends that she found him creepy which her dad was unaware of. Most people in hostage situations don't yell for help because of fear for their lives. Plus what would an I am assuming unarmed horseback rider do for her if she yelled out she would have probably gotten him and her killed. Think logically before you comment.

I agree with Lobotech..., something is definitely missing here. Did the girl have an infatuation with the man too? Was she in any way a participant in any of this? Only time will tell, but the accounts about the mother's & boy's death and yet no signs of concern or asking for help from the girl to the horseback rider do seem very suspicious.

In the meantime, I pray that there will be some degree of comfort for the father who has lost almost everyone, and the extended family who has experienced so much tragedy.

I cannot shake the feeling there is more to this story. No doubt that the death of the mother and son is tragic,

This guy really wasn't very bright. He took the license plates off the car, but he left the vin number for it to be identified. Once the FBI had the location of the car it was only a matter of time before they caught him. The only question was whether they'd recover the girl alive. Part of me wishes he hadn't been killed so that he could face justice for his crimes, but then I realize no Earthly punishment can compare to what he is likely facing right now.
