    The thing about republicans is that they get their tax cuts for the last 30 years and then pretend we need to begin making tax cuts like we haven't already.

    It's not working. The wealthy are richer than ever, but they aren't hiring - in this country. Let Mexico and China give them tax cuts.

    @Maverick: Fixing taxes IS focusing on the economy. Get government out of the business of bestowing favors and punishments through the tax code while imposing punishing rates, and watch prosperity ensue.

    "Securing the border" means militarizing a line some 2,000 miles long. It means a no-man's land at least 10 miles wide on the USA side. Tell that to the citizens of San Diego, El Paso, and so forth. It simply won't work. If you really want to control entry, give them work cards and LET 'EM COME IN!
    I suspect, however, that the Republicans, who are mostly southerners, don't want "those people" here under any conditions.

    What happened to the economy?

    I thought repubs were gonna focus on that?

    Does the GOP really think that the economy is fine and dandy? How out of touch are these people?
