    I work in a similar environment where I monitor automated tasks. There is a push for more automated landings that most pilots oppose. A pilot once told me he makes any excuse he can to not use the autoland feature his airline wants him to rely on but it's getting harder to make excuses.

    So once pilots get in a habit of monitoring and getting locked out of controlling the aircraft how long will it take for automated systems to catch up to our present excellent safety record?
