What a gross over simplification of what the internet is used for. Samuelson's ignorance is on full display today.

Lets take my career as an example. Some 25 years ago, 90% of the people I worked with resided in the same building I was in. They were mostly white like me, and only spoke english. Today, the vast majority of people I work with reside somewhere outside of the United States. They are some of the best and brightest in their fields from around the globe. On a daily basis I interact with people from England, Norway, Spain, German, the Netherlands, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Indonesia, China, India, Brazil and Columbia... to name a few.

Today, if you are a bright person, your educational and economic options are wide open to you if you have access to internet. It grants access to knowledge regardless of nationality, class or religion... it is as revolutionary as was the declaration of independence - this one flinging open the doors to true independence to billions around the world.

    Samuelson just doesn't get it.

Without the Internet, I wouldn't be able to make idiotic comments about silly editorials.

Sorry, I think the Internet is awesome...from e-mailing to googling, to watching movies, to access to hundreds of videos, songs etc. at your fingertips, it is a great thing. I'm no young person either as I'm pushing 50 and I love facebook as I have been able to reconnect with people where normal routes that existed before would have been limited or non-existent. I've even used it to get helpful hints to improve my golf game too. It is what it is. Sure the internet has some problems and issues etc. but for most of us, it is a useful tool that has enriched our lives and made the world smaller.
