Repubs made proposals, dems demagogued. Remember the dem ads with Ryan shoving granny off the cliff?
Repubs welcome the dialogue from BO, but harry and schumer shut him down.

    Get your story straight.

Lost in DC: Don't know where you have been over the past year but the dems are the only party to actually put entitlement reform on paper in a proposal and that was done by President Obama. What have the repubs offered besides turning SS over to wallstreet and medicare over to the insurance companies? You really are lost wow. The ignorance and the lack of knowledge just blows us dems away. Well I actually don't consider myself a dem more of independent, but how in the world are any of us in the middle supposed to vote for the ignorance of the republican party. Come on Repubs you can do so much better. So far in 2013 all we have seen/heard is complaining. Where are the SOLUTIONS to the problems you so often complain about?

This is news? All that changed was the date. We have known this was comming.

The date changes. But the thing all parties have known but our politicians refuse to acknowledge is... that the funds for all of these programs are "unsustainable" in the long view.

I remember this being brought up in debates when Clinton was campaigning (remember Al Gore's "Lock Box" come back)? It was known then that it was unsustainable. The only question was the year it ran out. And today it's the same. The only question is the date it runs out.

Our politicians like to talk about this when they are campaigning (because they know it gets the attention of American Voters). But when they get in office (Republican or Democrat)... they do nothing about it. They just keep spending and putting it on credit. That may work for awhile, but eventually it colapses. Credit can help your family get by for awhile, but puttig everything on credit is not a wise long-range-plan. It's the same for our Government. They just HOPE the colapse doesn't happen (during THIER administration).
