    It wasn't just this most recent truck impact that damaged this bridge. It is reported elsewhere that another more serious impact about six months ago was only minimally repaired.

    I wonder if some firm isn't looking into developing a specialty of designing and retrofitting Structural Redundancies into the thousands of Structures Nation-wide that need it.

    The infrastructure card is played at a regular pace. It provides political points for a person running for office, but somehow funding filters to other countries, or government programs.

    Never let facts get in the way of a good story line.

    This bridge collapse occurred after a truck hauling a large load took out several of the trusses which compromised the structural integrity. It did not just "fall down all by itself" due to age, neglect, or design flaws.

    This is like blaming a fire on spontaneous combustion when and arsonist set the fire.

    However, some will use it as an excuse to demand more highway money to keep union construction crews employed.
