Do YOU pay taxes that the law doesn't require you to pay? Do you know anyone that does? Why should we expect corporations to pay taxes that they are not legally required to pay when individuals will take every tax break they are legally allowed and congratulate each other for it? Why is it only evil when a multi-billion dollar company does it?

No one is asserting that Apple broke the law; only that the law allows Apple and other large companies to avoid paying taxes. But the law allows individuals to avoid paying taxes for all sorts of things as well, for everything from owning a home to having children.

Congress really should sit down and interrogate itself about why the tax code is so stupid.

And repubs have the nerve to call for more taxes to be placed on the poor and middle classes while one corporation refuses to pay BILLIONS? Unbelievable. How about we talk about the 47 percent if corporations which skip out on paying taxes while making record profits? If you folks have so much money for outrageous bonuses to your CEOs then you obviously have enough money to pay taxes. The rest of us are just trying to make ends meet.

The title of the article should be changed to "Government asks Apple to explain why the Tax system is so full of loopholes".
