    I remember in pilot training we had a student from one of the countries in the middle-east and during a practice spin his recovery wasn't working after a couple of attempts and he said, "My time to die." Fortunately, a spin recovery is practiced with an instructor and the instructor pulled the heavy canopy breaking tool down and said very emphatically, "It is not my time to die!!!" and he used the canopy breaking tool back side to smash into the foreign student's helmet and knock him out and then recovered the aircraft.

    This student left the United States of America and went back to finish his 30 year commitment to his country's military as a non-pilot.

    Life for some is not as some of us believe it is for us.

    There is a video of an instructor and student in a small plane as they go into a flat spin. No screaming, no crying, just silence, the instructor realising their inevitable death just says "Well, this is it Neil". They manage to recover just before they hit the ground and make a crash landing.
    People react to amazing circumstances in different ways. Some people like yourself go to pieces and some are able to remain calm and collected. Calling someone a sociopath would be a bit premature I think.

    Why was this person driving along the road taking a picture of this aircraft taking off? Terrorism comes in many forms. Who had access to this aircraft on the tarmac while it was parked? Did the person driving the vehicle have connection with the same someone's who might have had access to the aircraft? Even with security processes in the United States of America and supposedly in other locations around the world, this aircraft was not coming directly to the United States. As we know, in other countries, security can be lacking, even in our own country, at times. The 9/11 crews got around security processes in our country at the time. When the cockpit voice recorder is recovered it will reveal the crews and air traffic control input from starting engines to takeoff that could potentially reveal information. I remember aircraft accident where the aircraft crashed into a hotel and restaurant. In recovering the cockpit voice recorder from more than 10 feet in the ground after the ensuing fire due to the fuel in the aircraft tanks and the restaurant's own gas line, the box didn't look like a recorder box. It was essential to the analysis.

    My question is to anyone who watched the video of this crash. Did you feel something watching it??

    I watched it yesterday on Yahoo News. It is so quiet in the car which has the dash cam -that the video came from-that you can hear the occupant breathing. At one point you can hear the dashboard clock softly tick ticking.

    My point is there is not ONE BIT of reaction from the driver in seeing this horrific scene happening right in front of him. I would have been screaming.
    There is nothing, not even a change in his breathing. I saw a couple of websites yesterday also puzzled at this incredible unbelievable lack of reaction. One surmised only a complete sociopath could so calmly observe and have zero reaction this tragedy.

    Having been involved in places where we were moving equipment on aircraft while closing down operations in a country, loading operations can cause load and balance problems for an aircraft. This is a contractor, who the government contracts to do those operations and it is the contractor's responsibility to ensure it is loaded appropriately on the aircraft. That entails the right fuel loading, equipment tie-down and in the appropriate place to balance the aircraft down. The aircraft and crew appeared to be searching for that balance. If it is not tied down properly, the acceleration and lift off can cause problems. We had an aircraft that didn't have a 30,000 pound load secured appropriately and fortunately, the loadmaster noticed and identified that to the pilot as the load went clear to the back of the aircraft on takeoff roll. Now, during the aborted takeoff, the load now went forward on rollers but fortunately stopped where it had been secured and not clear to the front of the loading area.

    When the United States is leaving Afghanistan, there will be plenty of opportunity to load an aircraft wrong without the USA government's ensuring the aircraft is loaded correctly.
