Mental health needs our attention

    Well, when I have state senators saying the degrees, and licenses, I have in mental health, and social service, are worthless; then it does not encourage me to go into counseling.
    When I see what counseling pays, versus what it cost to get a higher counseling degree: it does not encourage me.
    When the number of openings at valley mental health goes down, due to funding: it does not encourage me.
    It seems that we are going to have to rely on religion to fill the need. Because the only people who will go into counseling, are those who will do it for completely altruistic reasons.
    Why should I go into $50,000 debt, and sacrifice two-three years going to school. To make less money then I make selling hamburgers and tacos?
