    "Republicans forced the Democratic Party"

please stop, my sides are aching!

dems had control of both houses; repubs could not and did not force the dems to do ANYTHING!

No, this disastrous lie is a BO and DEM creation, repubs had nothing to do with despite their attempts to enter the debate.

@ Xscribe. I challenged you to name one positive thing Obama has done and you couldn't! All you could come up with is accuse me of semantics. Obama was elected by people who think they have the right to receive what they didn't work for and Obamacare is proving to be a very expensive mess, nothing at all that we were told it was going to be! Our country is being destroyed and you support it!

The written responses here are based on an incomplete news article that doesn't tell the whole story. Premiums in general are likely to go down for women and older people while they are likely to go up for men and younger people. As with any insurance, those younger people will eventually see a return as they grow older with more medical problems (like an aging car). The problem appears to be the conservative insistence on private for-profit health care providers that Republicans forced the Democratic Party to pass up a universal health care model based on health care as the primary goal and that would have controlled costs much like public service commissions regulate public utilities. Unfortunately, health is not a public right, its a commercial commodity. Power for one's home is more important they one's health apparently.

Mountanman: I can name quite a few that I think are postive - but you wouldn't - which is why I and many others voted for him again. But as usual, you just want to argue semantics and not even address my post.

Patriot: Yes, estimate. That's the word the article used. And by the way, it was an F-150:) It's nice, too. Got the Ecoboost. Very fast!

No, BO did not say the total premium would go down, the employer's costs would go down; BO said the FAMILY'S cost would decline by $2500. BO LIED!

And regardless whether the premiums would have gone up without Obamacare, or the increase is not due to Obamacare, BO LIED and said they would go down.

Any way you look at it, BO LIED!!

    to reiterate:

BO said costs per family would go down. Costs have NOT gone down. BO LIED!

I am very very very familiar with your insurance plan. First, your not looking at the whole picture, because your employer pays a majority of your premium(it should show on your paycheck, if not your HR can give you the info on how much your company pays)so the $2000 figure would be on that amount, not your individual premium. Second, on two of the 3 plans in Utah where premiums went up the benefits on the plan increased. You also were allowed to select a dental plan where they previously were tied to your medical plan. If you picked a low cost medical plan and high option dental your premiums would go up, because you received better dental coverage. Even the plans that went up the most are only costing you $20-$40 more per month, a smaller increase than most years. Also, lets be honest, your insurance went up every year, before you had ever hear of Obamacare. Finally DMBA hasn't implemented the majority of Obamacare provisions yet, their plans are in grandfathered status. So your premiums going up really isn't due to Obamacare.

From what I can tell this is a reprint of an AP article. Not exactly the National Review. I guess it is just as "Priceless" when media sources that frequently favor the Democrats have to be questioned too. Good lesson for us all. Question everything.

An estimate? Might be negative against your president? Let's see here ...Barack 'estimated' Obamacare costing 800 billion and now it is already 2.8 trillion and climbing. That is TRIPLE!!! So let's see here - you go to your wife and tell her you want to buy a new truck - she asks how much will it cost and you tell her ..oh about 18 grand. You pull up in the front yard in your shiny new Ford F-250 and the price tag is 45 grand!!!! You tell her "oops I was a little off dear". Sorry. No big deal right??

I doubt you will find it so "hilarious" when you see the cost of your next operation at the hospital and the fact that your health care provider has CUT his percentage covered drastically due to Obamacare.

@ Xscribe. Can you name ONE positive thing that Obama has accomplished? If you can, that would be priceless! Don't forget Benghazi, fast and furious, white house intelligent leaks and his lies about tax increases on ONLY the rich! Please do so quickly because the rest of us can really use a good laugh!

This cannot be true. Mr. Obama campaigned on a $2500 reduction in family health care costs and also that he would protect the middle class. It seems common in history to tell the biggest lie to cover the biggest untruth. The Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act is a good example of label that tries to hide the opposite.

How do you people accusing Obama of "Lying" look at yourselves in the mirror? You all act as if President Obama is the only Politician who ever Miss-Calculated or Lied. We could all fire back about lies Republicans have told over the years. I just can't understand how you folks can be so bold about persecuting this man? People who live in Glass Houses I guess?

By the way, did any of you read this article? The majority of Americans are covered by employee health care programs.

I know it's the same 4 or 5 people that are always making the same comments over and over again on these articles but for Pete Sakes give it a rest already. The energy you put in these comments could be used in a much better fashion. Don't you agree?

    I'm just sayin....

I find it absolutely hilarious that when something comes out - an estimate no less - that might be negative against the president, you get posters who take it as absolute fact. Yet, when something comes out that puts the president in a favorable light, then there are flaws or it is somehow the leftist media. Priceless!

well at least Barack promised all of us that our health care premiums would go down by an average of $2000 per year due to Obamacare. Interesting that I noticed my DMBA premiums have actually gone UP this past year ....and in fact everyone I speak to says the same...their premiums have increased ALOT?? Hmmmm - now how could this be? Oh that's right I forgot we just have to give Barack a little more time and then the premiums will come down...right?? So I guess at the end of 2013 my premiums will be 2000 less ?? Well it must be those darn Republicans again causing Obamacare to increase our premiums... but the GOP had nothing to do with Obamacare? Ok I'm confused. It appears that Barack lied but is that possible? I mean someone so divine could lie? MSNBC must know the answer let's ask them or perhaps Jay Carney? Something I just remembered Barack telling us - Obamacare would only cost 800 billion and now the cost is 2.8 trillion. Ok he missed it by a few trillion - no big deal - we will just raise taxes on the evil rich some more.

My fellow Americans, at least the MAJORITY of us, we got what we asked/voted for. I hope the ones who voted for this revenge-charged fella will suffer the most! By the way, the new title/name of his "affordable care" is "Obama'scare".

Health insurance claims will increase when you increase the amount of people with health insurance by a couple dozen million, particularly when those are the sicker people on average. That's just common sense. If you have a better idea on how to deal with it then let Utah make its own plan. If it can cover as many people and be no more expensive than Obamacare then they can get a waiver and use the Obamacare money to support their own system.

No no no. It isn't so. Obama said it would not cost us more, but less. Can't be. Obama said so. I just can't believe it. Obama has been so honest. (Yes, major sarcasam here)

Let's see. Wasn't there a governor in New England who reformed their healthcare system? What was his name? Flit? Chit? Rahm..something? Perhaps before doing the daily Obama rip, we should ask who pays these guys with the new report. I mean, are they connected to guys who own coal mines or employ lots of poorly-paid employees or make high powered rifles?

Yet another reason we should have elected Mitt Romney! Now all of us are going to pay much more for our healthcare even though we were promised otherwise. Obamacare is a pack of lies!
