The Bill of Rights is what We the People have told the Government since the inception of these United States exactly what the Government may NOT do to us.

And Governor Herbert just vetoed something that would have restored at least a modicum of one of those enshrined rights, the 2nd Amendment. God has given us the right to defend ourselves, NOT the government. It is only the government that seeks to limit or infringe upon those rights, unconstitutionally.

Governor Herbert just vetoed against 2/3 of our great state representatives. He will be overridden, and I hope his ratings plummet into the toilet. Republican in name only!

I'm encouraged by the veto, but still nervous about the prospect of an override. Utah faces many grave and serious challenges. Our legislators should stop wasting time with sophomoric "message" bills. Wouldn't the state be better off if we focused this intense energy and enthusiasm on something like education?
