Arias’ behavior prior to the murder was that of an opportunistic
stalkerWhile I agree there are battered women - there are also murdered
men. The latter is more permanentArias does a disservice to all women
everywhere by playing the “I get to perpetrate because I am a
victim” card. Such justification is as morally bankrupt as arguing that a
man can do whatever he wants with his wife/chattel: The battered woman defense
is the inverse feminist version of rationalizing wife-beating because she
didn’t act right – It is a manipulative mentality that does not
empower women, it merely ultimately backfires on women who are truly wronged
(and are NOT stalkers and murderers). Imagine a man arguing that he was
justified in killing his girlfriend because she repeatedly humiliated him.
Where is all the equal and non-sexist feminist sympathy?
Stabbed him 30 times and cut his throat as well as shot him in the head?
Battered woman defense is right out the door with that level of destruction.
