At a rate of a dollar per second, it would take 554,000 years to pay off our debt.

What is it about cuts, that Obama doesn't understand?

Let's quit giving billions to other countries.

This will be the story for the next 2 years and possibly 4 if the GOP retains power in the House. Our political leaders are like teenagers fighting for bathroom time.

I think the thing that truly showed the real agenda of Obama and the Democrats was when they turned down a proposal from the Republicans that would have given Obama in essence the line item veto. Obama could have taken the power and cut the 87 billion how he wanted to. Instead he hides from the responsibility so that if pain happens he can blame the Republicans. By the way, this sequester stuff was Obamas idea in the first place. Yes Republicans bought on to it, but it was stipulated at the time that no tax increases would be part of the deal. Now Obama wants tax increases again, after getting one only a few weeks ago, and does not want to cut any of the growing budget. Will somebody please explain to Obama and Democrats the difference between a Billion and a Trillion. Trillions of dollars of debt is dangerous to this country.

    * I will cut the deficit in half--B.O.

    * Having created sequester, I now don't like it , and will blame the Republicans for it--New York Times Feb 17, 2013

What kind of expectations do Americans have, when voting for a president?

How can Obama be so divisive and the nation tolerate it? When is he going to learn to lead? That's the trouble...we have a campaigner, not a leader, as President.

I don't understand why Obama and Democrats won't work on spending cuts separate from tax increases. Obama has refused to consider any bill that doesn't include tax increases.

They still don't understand that if they taxed 100% of Americans, 100% of businesses, 100% of everything, then confiscate all wealth from everyone they still wouldn't have enough money to balance the budget for more than one year.

Tax increases will never solve this problem. Democrats still cannot understand that the problem is too much spending.

    Decrease spending.

This has gotten so old. How about a new direction? Let's change the constitution to read that if the parties cannot come up with a budget two months after they are sworn in then they don't get paid, they have to give up the health and retirement benefits they have certainly not earned and they can ALL be booted out of office in a clean the entire house November election.
