Just tell me how much has the President spent. And please prove it because he do's not have any control of the check book the congress do's. So i will ask you one more time JUST HOW MUCH HAS HE SPENT? Oh and you ask about the price of gas whats he got to do with that? He don't control it or has any other President. Oh realy gold has gone over 5000 a ounce. And about food stamps well i guess if the GOP had got off the hands and voted on some job bills alot of people might have been back to work all ready but hey it's more importen to them to just say NO. and be done with it. And you realy need to get over it your boy lost time to move on.

    There is very little freight.
Very few businesses are buying or selling products.

    That is the truth!

So what happens to the economy when the average household is taking $150.00 less home each week thanks to increased taxes?
Then add to that the increases in heathcare insurance?
A lack of consumer confidence and a fear of even greater tax increases?

We are all afraid to spend what little money we have left!

That all adds up to a dead economy.

Does it matter what the President says when he is not doing anything to help get us working?

Check the price of gas, and number of citizens on food stamps,--between the first Obama State of the Union, and now.

    Enough said.

    Some comments:

    * Obama has spent more money then any human being in history.
    * Gold has doubled in value in the passed four years.
    * North Korea, and Iran are producing nuclear bombs, while we get rid of ours.
    * Under Obama, Egypt is strengthening their military while we downsize ours.

People need to record Obama's speech tonight, and re-play it in a couple years. Listing the untruths will take a few pages.

"Today I'm pledging to cut the deficit we inherited by half by the end of my first term in office," Obama said. "Now, this will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we've long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay, and that means taking responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control"

For those unaware(running from reality), the deficit increased.

To "homebrew" actually we are not better off. Yes the numbers may look like we are better off, but we are not.

See "U.S. Income Gap Rose, Sign of Uneven Recovery" in the NY Times.

"Food Stamps Used By Record 42.2 Million Americans This Thanksgiving" Huffington Post

"Labor Force Participation Rate Lowest In Three Decades, Though Despair Doesn't Explain It All" Huffington Post.

How can you say that things are getting better when we are earning LESS than before Obama, have more dependance on food stamps, and fewer people working?

If Obama added one dollar to the debt, it would be 'more' debt than any other President. So, focusing on the dollar amout of debt is a sham.

As, we are still adding the cost of wars George W. Bush started, aren't we?

Now, has Obama doubled the debt?

    Barack increased

    the national debt

more than bush Senior, bush junior, clinton, reagan, carter, washington, eisehnower,

    and every

    other US president

    Every other US president combined

    has not raised the debt

as much as barack managed to do

    wow barack

    Regan tripled the debt.

    W. Bush, doubled the debt.

    Obama? Has done neither.

Regan, raised the debt ceiling x18 times.

    W. Bush, x7 times.

    Obama? x4 times.

The constant attack against Obama is that the national debt is the highest it's ever been. To be fair, if Obama added ONE dollar to the debt it would still be the 'highest' national debt. By a dollar.

Keep in mind, George W. Bush did not end his wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. They were not even budgeted. So, that means the next President had to add the wars to the budget.

    Which President was that?

I think we are doing a lot better.

**Budget Deficit To Drop Below $1 Trillion in 2013: CBO - By ANDREW TAYLOR - AP - 02/05/13

'Obama wants to ease the cuts by replacing them with new tax revenue and alternative cuts, but a clash is looming with Republicans who insist that last month's tax increase on wealthier earners will be the last tax hike they permit.'

If my main motivation was to lower the debt....

    why would I vote Republican?

    It reached 11% - Chris B

So we are in agreement Chris B.

the unemployment has gone DOWN. :)

FYI? National unemployment was at 4% when Bill Clinton left office.

It was 7.8% when Obama took office.

    Which President was in between...?

You say the Republicans have not passed one jobs bill!! Actually, the Republican House has passed job creation bills that never get to Obama's desk because Obama does not like them so they are never given a chance by Harry Reid and the Democratic Senate. Also Obama's own budget that he proposed could not pass the Democratic controlled Senate and it has been four years and counting since they have passed a budget. Meanwhile Paul Ryan's budget bill that did not pass the House was at least an attempt to pass a budget. Sounds to me like the obstructionists are Obama and the Democratic Senate not the Republican controlled House of Representatives.

All I know is my 401K collapsed under "W." It has doubled in value since Mr. Obama took office. Obama's careful management of the economy, injecting liquidity when necessary and gradually bringing the resulting deficits down each year has stimulated confidence. DOW 14000 is a whole lot better than Bush 8000. Thanks, Mr. President.

A populaur catchphrase during the election was"Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" If you look at these numbers, and the FACTS. Your only conclusion could be that you bet you are. Job growth has been slow, mostly because of the republicans desire to make Obama a one term president. Are they going to obstruct for another 4 years? In the 2010 election, they said it was All about jobs. The have NOT passed 1 jobs bill since. They have however, attacked workers rights, womens rights, repealed Obamacare 43 times, and wasted our time and money. Defecits are falling. All numbers are going in the right direction Much to the despair of the republican party. In 2014 i hope republican obstructionists are shown the door. Get them out of the way, and the democrats will finish cleaning up, another republican mess. Just as they have for decades. Republican policies donot work. They never have, and they never will!

Allow me to paraphrase for barack:

The cure to our financial problems is to continue to spend lots of money

I am better at spending your money than you are

It is Mitt Romney and rich people's fault for our economic problems. It they weren't rich, then we would all be poor, and then we'd be equal so it would be better.

There you have it folks, no need to listen tonight

Before barack's first spendathon of 787 Billion, he said we needed to start spending money whereenver we could "to prevent unemployment from reaching 8%"

    He spent the money.

    It reached 8%

    It reached 9%

    It reached 10%

    It reached 11%

The hope of the radical right of a bad economy to elect Romney failed. Are they going to obstruct for another four years?
