Guns in school and churches? I would much rather find some way to have such items eliminated from such places of worship and learning - it sends out an "eerie" message to those inside. I would much rather stay with what Utah schools have been able to accomplish with resources officers in our schools for years. Such trained individuals serve several purposes, not just simply armed guards, but they have also offered students a friendly and educational value and image of local law enforcement, offered emergency medical help, and other valuable assistance. We've had years and years of Americans becoming accustomed to airline security checks and the terrorist bombings of planes in the U.S. seem to have been negligible. School and churches are places to study and pray in peace not be an atmosphere of armed militant security with guns at every pew or school desk.

If this bill passes, let's hope there are no disagreements over doctrines or scriptural interpretations. Things could get ugly.

Having been to church in Arkansas I believe this is a great idea. By allowing guns, you're liable to get more people to go to church.
