This is the wrong way to go about helping nations. I read a study once where
they found that if they educated the women and gave them hope that the violence
decreased significantly.
While sending in soldiers into the hotspots
to protect the innocent, we need to send in people to educate and give hope to
the women that are outside the hotspots.

Bill Clinton tried nation building and it didn't work then.
Then
what do you call invading Iraq and Afghanistan?

"This is nothing but left-wing propaganda."
You blame the
left?
You seem to agree that we should "avoid all foreign
entanglements unless national security was directly at issue. Even then, we must
simply eliminate the security threat and get out."
Is that what
you think happened in Iraq?
Iraq had nothing to do with our
"national security". Neither does Afghanistan. Except that our
"national security" is being diminished daily by the loss of life and
the amount of debt we are incurring.
I also agree that we should
"simply eliminate the security threat and get out"
Seems to
be much more of an Obama modus operandi. Some are just too partisan to
recognize it.
Regardless, blaming the left for "nation
building" is a joke.

it didn't work then. Obama is trying it, and is failing now.
George Washington taught that we must avoid all foreign entanglements unless
national security was directly at issue. Even then, we must simply eliminate the
security threat and get out.
If the people of the Third World want to
massacre themselves as they have done for thousands of years, that is their
business. We are naive if we think we can simply show up and put an instant end
to age-old prejudices. We simply throw away American lives when we try to do so.
Helping struggling nations to survive is difficult but necessary
It is possible to over do foreign entanglement.
