@BigBenzo88, nice playoff record, NOT..keep playing the other 1-and-done team form your neck of the woods at RES because it's the only way herriman will get there. Maybe they will give you a punch card discount lol...as for 50-0, we'll let's just say we are classy no need to run it up...I hope they let you guys keep the coin. Region 7 Turning in equipment early drags. GO WX! GO CATS TAKE STATE!!

Let me re-phrase my comment that wasn't posted. I respect your school spirit for your son's Herriman team, I believe family support is very important. However, region 7 probably won't have a solitary win in this years playoffs, rendering your theory inaccurate that region 7 is the best. If you look carefully, region 6 actually seems to be the dominant region in 4A. I will be there tonight cheering, may the best team win, in fact there are no losers in high school athletics! I too find your comments highly entertaining and look forward to your assessment of tonight's result. Good luck Herriman...

@binghamalum - I'm leaving for the game right now. I am on the Board of Directors for the Booster Club...so I help with the pre-game meal and field set-up. I am hard to miss. I am 6'4" 260lbs and in an effort to bring back some high school nostalgia I might be wearing my purple/gold high school letterjacket or in honor of my Wildcats killing Iowa this afternoon I might be wearing my purple/black Northwestern letterjacket. I would enjoy the opportunity to meet...because you are intriguing yourself. I roll pretty deep...so I don't know if there will be room for you next to me...but we can definitely chat for a bit.

As far as confidence for the team...it couldn't be higher. I am absolutely baffled that most people feel that Herriman has no chance to win. Parry and Felt are predicting an 18 point win by East...some have predicted a 49 point win by East. I believe that the game will be won in the 4th quarter or OT by either team...but I predict Herriman to come out with a 3 or 7 point win!!!!

Man, I saw this one coming. I knew that with the key injuries that Wasatch had to 2 of it's receivers and on defense, that beating a solid team like Bear River would be a challenge. It's too bad that the injuries came at the worst possible time, but that happens sometimes and you have to be able to get past it.

I wonder however, why in the world wouldn't the DC stack the box against BR? Watching their QB he obviously doesn't throw a great or accurate ball, but he is a fantastic runner. They should have made him beat them with the pass. Their pass defense was good all year, why change things in the playoffs? Switching to a 3-5 was not working from the start, but there were no changes made until the game was out of hand in the fourth. Desert Hills will stack and stop the run, and they may get beat by a deep ball a few times, but I doubt that the BR QB can complete more than the occasional deep ball.

I wanna bet if your down on your confidence you have in your team!

Because Im not even a east fan at ALL! I want hERRIMAN to win but
seriously there is no 0 CHANCE they can win this game!

well maybe 3 percent because of no head coach at the time.

@eagle - I agree!!! The key to this game will be the first offensive and defensive series for Herriman. The goal for the Herriman offense will be to score on the first drive. The goal for the defense is to get a 4-and-out or an 8-and-out.

The end of the 1st quarter will be the first indication of where both teams are. A tie, a Herriman lead or an East lead of 7 or less would sway the confidence and momentum to Herriman.

This will be a better game than most people think. No blowout by East or Herriman. I predict that this game will be decided in the 4th quarter and maybe even overtime. Look for Herriman to pull away with a 3 or 7 point win!!!

To me the game will be determined if Herriman is motivated in the right way. If they are they can keep it close and perhaps pull off the upset. However, Logan took the UHSAA's decisions I believe the wrong way. The coaches seemed bothered by the decision understandably. But perhaps this showed a lack of confidence to get it done on the field which crept into the player's minds then translated into a 49-14 blowout victory for Timpview. After witnessing the Logan game I am worried that Herriman too has got caught up way too much in the anxiety created by the decision while East is quietly doing its thing. Yes, the Leopards have to play on three-days rest and at Herriman but I think they will win comfortably.

@86&90UTE - I agree with a portion of your comment. Region 6 is overrated....Woods Cross should have beaten Westlake 50-0 and Highland needed a last second score to beat Olympus...in comparison to Herriman...that game didn't matter because Herriman killed Highland AND Olympus. Region 7 is not stacked...it only has one awesome team....HERRIMAN!!!

The fact is that Herriman DOES stand a chance against East. Using common games....East vs Highland / Herriman vs Highland and East vs Clearfield / Herriman vs Clearfield produced identical results and scores. Herriman is the #1 scoring offense in Utah and East is the #2 scoring offense in Utah. Herriman is the #12 scoring defense in Utah and East is the #7 scoring defense in Utah. East beat Highland by 20 points...Herriman killed Highland by 20+ points...so how in the world would you think East would kill Herriman????

Look for a slugfest...East has the advantage on the offensive line and defensive line; East and Herriman are equal at running back and linebackers; Herriman has the advantage at quarterback, wide receivers and defensive backs. The defensive backs of Herriman will be the difference in earning a win for Herriman!!!

I'm sure you meant it the other way around. All the region 6 teams won last night.

So Friday's 4A games did one thing. They proved that Region 6 is overrated and Region 7 is stacked. Poor Herriman stands NO chance against EAST!!! Go leopards!!
