    This is an example of why strong regulations and enforcement are necessary. Without strong standards and security for such wide-ranging technology which has such potential for personal devestation, individuals could find themselves ruined with no recourse and no way to prevent it.

    Corporations will only spend so much to protect their customers in the name of reputation. As we saw in the last decade, unless financial and security regulations are strong and enforced, corporations around the world and in the U.S. will allow their customers to be ransacked if the lack of care doesn't come back to make the laxness unprofitable.
