Where did I say I atoumatically assume utah will beat colorado? Far from it, in my mind that game is almost a toss up although I would give utah a slight edge, I just think they have better talent than colorado does. But they had better talent last year as well and we all saw how that went.

But as I said none of those teams is particularly good so it doesn't seem to me that beating them is an impossible task. I said I doubt they'll win 4-5 but 2 or 3 wins is what I expect with no real opinion as to which 2-3 games they will win. They just all look like crapshoots to me.

Beating California is critical to Utah's slim hopes of qualifying for a bowl. With a win over the Bears, the Utes would gain a little momentum and have a decent chance of beating Washington State and heading to Washington on a two game winning streak with a little much needed confidence. Lose to California, and I see the Utes completely imploding with no better than a 2-7 conference record and no bowl game.

    @ D4

I was responding to Duckhunter. Sorry that I did not make that clear.

I don't think you read the article. I believe Riley said all of the games are winnable, AND that the Utes would have to play much better to win ANY of them. Seems like an accurate assumption to me. As we all know, there are no automatics.

Why do you automatically think Utah will defeat Colorado? That's what everyone thought last year and this year the game is on the road. Plus, last year that were playing for all the marbles and this year they'll just be playing to win their new rivalry. (Hey, maybe that's the motivation that's been lacking so far...)

I actually think utah could win 4 of those 5 games, I just don't think they will. As riley stated all of them are winnable, none of those teams is particularly good although arizona and washington are ok. The problem as I see it is that with the possible exceptions of wsu and colorado, utah is even worse.

That said it isn't outside the realm of possibility that utah could win 4 of those 5 and qualify for a bowl. I guess we'll see.
