I've always been an optimistic, cup half full kind of guy so your observations of Utah fans borders on the bizarre for me.
If you're of that frame of mind the reason your "list" of past posters are not on here calling for Dr. Hill, Coach Whitt or BJ's head means they're not fans says more about you than them. They just may have a fulfilling enough life outside of this forum it makes no sense to come on here and rehash a less than steller season (for either team) and even less to rehash the same old Red vs. Blue nonsense we beat ad naseum.
I know many and I'm sure you do as well that have their faith so tied up in the success of the BYU sports program it borders fanaticism. My faith and team support are independant, I don't need my team to win to feel secure. I'm sure you are the same but it comes out loud and clear when you read many of the other posts. Are those people really what you would consider fans or just insecure?
I'm a fan, think what you want.

Where do I make the distinction between who and who are not real Utah fans? Mine is but a simple factual post.

You're all the same to me but I do note differences. Don't you?

At the rate Ute "fans" are abandoning these comment boards my 'job' at agitating them is in serious jeopardy!

Now Ducky and Sammy G are telling us who, and who are not "real Utah fans". Too funny, especially coming from the two biggest Utah Haters around. Consider the source Ute fans!

    Go UTAH!

sammyg is correct, they've bailed. At least fans with pitchforks actually care, that batch aren't really fans at all, hence my moniker for them, utah "fans".

That said there aren't very many real utah fans anyway. Most of these "fans" simply hopped on board when they thought the going was good and they just as quickly hop off when it isn't. I know many of them and I'm willing to bet you do to, you just don't like to admit it because it hurts to know that utah's actual fanbase is extremely small.

But for the real fans, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and include you in the "real fan" category, it must be painful to have to witness this after all of the deluded proclomations of PAC 12 titles" and "Rose Bowls" that were so prevalent on these boards 2 months ago turned out to be just that, deluded.

"The best part is the Ute fans aren't panicking. You don't read page after page of comments calling for fans to sharpen pitchforks, light torches and march on the ADs or Coach's office."

I think the more correct observation is... Ute "fans" have jumped ship.

Casualties of a 2-5 season thus far...

Chris B, hedgehog, naval vet, williary, motorbike, pocyute, jenny83, 54-10 and other screen names, johninslc, hailstorm, and 'pebbles' to name a few.

I know the Coach Whitt and the team will pull it together and end the season on a high note.

    Go Utes!

Even with all of the tough times this team has been through, I still like the attitude of the players. They haven't given up and they seem to be committed to fixing the problems and getting better.

I have a great deal of respect for Travis Wilson. He has elevated his game quite a bit over the last two weeks but I'm also impressed with his leadership. After the OSU game, he was the first player to step up to be interviewed and he took all the blame on himself for those turnovers. We all know they weren't all his fault, but that was pretty impressive for a true freshmen.

I hope the Utes can continue to take steps forward this week against Cal. If they do, they have a chance to win this game but they really need to clean things up in order to break the losing streak. Cal is a hard team to figure out this year. They have played a couple of games where they looked really good and they have also had a few like last week, where they looked pretty beatable.

I hope the Utes can turn it around.

I rarely even read a Utah article, but this one seemed problematic. It seems both coaches for Utah and BYU have grossly fumbled the ball in QB preparation, selection and recruiting. Are Ute fans as incensed as BYU fans over this poor coaching work? BYU has the easy schedule from here and should easily beat the 3 WAC patsies and may beat GTech pending a dumb Riley play and end 7-5 at worst and a lackluster bowl game that will be no gimmee. For Utah... wins against CU and WSU bring it to 4-5... I doubt they'll beat Cal or Wash but they could. I suspect the U will end with a 6-6 record. Except for USU, not a good year for the state. Coaches better be examining their choices.

It's been a tough year. Utah is just not executing at a high enough level to win in the PAC 12. Close, but no cigars. The Cal game is an absolute must to go bowling. Utah should beat Colorado and WSU. Winning two of three from Cal, Washington and Arizona will be tough if they continue to play at the current level.

    GO UTES >------>

I like Jake's attitude! Love that dude.

Even after all the mistakes made at OSU, I feel like the Utes are turning a corner (on offense). Wilson is getting better. The seniors (Devonte and the wolf man in particular) need to step up and play some ball!

    Let's go Utes!
