Your 25-yo OC is winless against the WAC and PAC.

But, it is interesting that, despite all of your talk to the contrary, independent, "irrelevant" BYU is still absolutely THE BIGGEST game on Utah's schedule. Losing to the Trojans or Sun Devils or Buffs is insignificant compared to the devastation felt on the hill when the Utes lose to BYU.

Good article and right on point Bill. The Utes need to clean up a lot of things but nothing more important than the play of the offensive line. We have a couple of young guys stepping in right now and I hope they can learn quick.

I believe the defense is better than what they showed against ASU, however they will need to prove it in a big way tomorrow night. Star and the Kruger brothers need to put some serious pressure on Barkley if they hope to slow them down.

I would love to see the Utes go with a hurry up type offense to try and wear out the Trojans defense and use the elevation to our advantage, I'm just not sure Hays can pull it off.

Oh and to mussing around, our 25 year old OC is undefeated against your cougs - both as an OC and as a QB coach. Short term memory must be required for all coug fans.

    Go Utes!

You've gotta love it! The first two, and five of the total eight comments from the nationally insignificant, independant WACers. Yes, one loss, no matter who it's to, and your season is done.

Two losses, one to a division rival, and we're still alive for the Rose Bowl. Life is great in the big-time for Ute fan. Go Utes!

2-2 is a massive deal to both bandwagon fans and people that just don't like the University of Utah. I like my team and I stand behind them. We have two BCS wins and numerous bowl game wins in a row (sadly it was stopped by boise state). I do stand behind my team, even when we got beat bad by wyoming clear back in 99, 00 at home. People pick at these things like they are coaches and analysts. You don't have a behind the scenes look and no, you don't know what's going on. We could be about to do something great, we could win, we might not and that's why college football is so fun and exciting to watch. By the way 'I' am not starting anyone. I am a fan, a spectator. I'm here to show my support and that is exactly what I am doing. Ha ha I'm starting Hays guys! Yes! Oh and they are 'my' linebackers. wow!

"Lots of people forget what we have done recently..."

What exactly have U done recently?

Beat up on possibly THE WORST team in D1?
    Lost to the Aggies?
    Barely beat BYU at home?
Got your behinds kicked by the Sun Devils?

It's not just about playing smarter. The Utes simply don't have the players this year to compete.

    Utah's offensive line is offensive.
You're starting a DII transfer at QB.
    Your linebackers are atrocious.
And, you have a 25-yo OC still trying to figure out how to call plays.

"The 2012 Utah football season finds itself at a crossroads in just the first week of October, with the USC Trojans set to come to town Thursday night.

That first sentence isn't meant to imply that the season is done unless the Utes prevail in front of a sold-out Rice-Eccles Stadium and national television audience."

Who are you kidding Bill? Unless the Utes beat USC, unlikely, their slim hopes of winning the PAC south are DEAD!

Playing USC close again to win another "moral" victory isn't going to feed the bulldog. A loss is a loss, whether it's against "former" #1 USC, or against lowly 10-loss Colorado.

Lots of people forget what we have done recently, or they just push it off as "oh the other team didn't show up, or they didn't try hard enough'. It becomes forgotten knowledge of bitter fans of other teams. Anyway, we do need to play a pretty good game, but USC really isn't as good as they were projected to be (a projection I made in the spring). They're athletic, but not perfect. I do hope the smarter Utes come to play, especially a smarter Mo Lee. He has had a few costly penalties, just because of bad (kid) decisions. We need to have our heads on and watch out for those penalties. They have cost us games before. I wish I could be there cheering in person, but I will still be watching it, excited as ever. Go Utes!

    This won't even be close.
Your offense is terrible, and your defense is outgunned big time.

Remember how Utah was going to get crushed last year against USC?
Or against Alabama in the sugar bowl?
    Or against byu this year?
    And last year?
    And the year before that?

I am quite confident whit and the defense will turn things around. Not a chance in the world I won't be there screaming us to victory

Utes- front runners for south crown.
