"By your logic, Iran should be allowed to develop the atomic bomb as well,..."

Adolf Hitler came up with the Final Solution that resulted in the murders of more than 5 million Jews and Israel has no intention of allowing Iran to carry out it's threat to do the same.

Is your comment an attempt to deflect the comment away from Operation Fast and Furious that resulted in the arming of Mexican drug dealers and the murder of a least one US Border Patrol agent?

By your logic, Iran should be allowed to develop the atomic bomb as well, since they're doing it themselves. Now, you can't come back at me and say they're using consultants from Pakistan and N. Korea and therefore it's different, because we allowed German Jewish refugees to come and do the same for us. So which is it?

"We gave Israel the "Atom Bomb" Not Iran."

No, the United States did not give Israel the atom bomb. They developed it on their own.
That, however is not the issue at hand. What the Obama Administration did do is arm Mexican drug dealers. Do you feel better about that? I know I don't.

"Meanwhile, how amazing that conservatives seem so eager to turn death and personal tragedy into a political football!"

If it had been a Republican administration that had armed Mexican drug dealers who then killed American Border Patrol Agents am I to assume that you would have defended their poorly thought out plan.

Meantime everybody involved with Operation Fast and Furious is hiding under their tables until this thing blows over.

Mr. Ivie is a true American hero to me. He was dedicated to protecting us from the criminal invasion from the south. I only wish our politicians weren't so corrupt that they allow this situation to continue instead of building a wall.

My condolences to the family and friends of this brave officer.

Meanwhile, how amazing that conservatives seem so eager to turn death and personal tragedy into a political football!

Where do you get that from?

@Happy Valley Heretic: Israel is our ally as of now. I am quite surprised about that because of the way Obama has been treating her. Nevertheless, Israel is the only ally we have in the Middle East. I would much rather trust them with the "bomb" than any one of those countries we have to pay off to be our friend. You know who I mean: The ones who, at a drop of a hat will start hating the US, burning our flag, destroying our embassies and killing our ambassadors. Yes, Israel having the bomb sets much better with me than those killers having guns.

You failed to mention the fact that Obama gave the guns to the killers.

Nope didn't FAIL, that's NOT a FACT, but the "truth" eludes most of your posts.

We gave Israel the "Atom Bomb" Not Iran. Do you feel better about that? I know I don't.

You failed to mention the fact that Obama gave the guns to the killers.....wouldn't be surprised if next he gives Iran an atom bomb....

"the first fatal shooting of an agent since a deadly 2010 firefight."
I send my condolences to the family.
The rest of your comments are so far off base it's laughable, one shooting in 2 years, this has got to be one of the safest patrol jobs in the nation. 35 Police officers were killed in gunfights in America so far this year, 90 officers killed total.
There is a problem, but it is not the epidemic these other posters suggest to try and put the blame Obama for well anything anymore.

...while the Dept. of Justice sues Arizona for trying to achieve immigration control. It's time for Eric Holder to go on patrol.

And Obama is allowing these criminals to flood our country unchallenged? The liberals would say it is the Christian thing to do.

Down here in AZ, the local news (channel 12) said he was from Sierra Vista and was a volunteer minister.
Translated, this means he was LDS and was serving as a 2nd Counselor in the Sierra Vista 2nd Ward.

Remember folks, democrats value human life. Unless you are a US ambassador, military (2002 deaths in Afghanistan), border patrol, Mexican teenagers at a party, unborn children, or collateral damage from a drone strike.

But they are very compassionate. Look how they give rights to terrorists and set them free to kill again, or try and give a jury trial in a US court, or give our money to the muslim brotherhood etc. That's compassion.

Yet the only thing they can tell us is that it could be worse. Really? What is the democrat threshold of worse? I think things are already worse and would rather see improvement than to know that things could be worse.

Fast and Furious is no different than Obama himself shooting and killing our border agents.....Obama now has two border agents and an ambassador's blood on his hands....

This Border Patrol agent need not have died!
This callous killing and disregard of our national security must stop!

We pretend that we have a border and that no one is supposed to cross it except at authorized points. However, everyone on both sides of the border knows that the border is a line on the map, sometimes marked by a fence, sometimes by a wall, but that the Obama administration will not use force to stop incursions across the border.

In the last year, the border has been illegally crossed by harmless economic migrant job seekers, by criminals seeking wealthier victims, by drug dealers and coyotes, and even by heavily armed groups that are drug cartel gangs or even Mexican military units. Quite likely Islamic terrorists have also come across our unguarded southern border as well.

It is long past time to enforce our border as an actual border to be heeded, with deadly consequences if ANYONE crosses it illegally, in either direction.

The bad guys have already turned our border areas into a kill zone, so why are we unwilling to use whatever force is necessary to uphold the rule of law?

I am so sorry for the Ivie family, that surname really rings a bell. Our country is at risk if we do not protect our borders and it is not fair that there are so few to be there to protect us. But their service is greatly appreciated.

    Re: "Border Patrol agent . . . shot, killed . . . ."

The entirely foreseeable and inevitable result of the Obama regime's illegal open borders policy.

How many more horrific incidents will be enough for cynical, vote-buying Democrats?

When is the federal government going to wake up and realize there are armed criminals and terrorists operating freely along both sides of our southern border? It is long overdue for the government to permanently deploy the national guard along our nations southern border. One of Ronald Reagan's most profound quotes is "a nation without borders is not a nation".
