This Alta is not even close to some they have had in the past, same with this years Bingham team. Wish we could have seen what the 2010 Miner could have done nationally.

When they continue to play out of state like this, wait until the season is under way to see who is in the position to play. East was a way better team to go for Utah, Alta might be better next year but atleast lets find out so we dont embarrass ourselves.

@Braxton. I agree East is one of the top teams in Utah. Jordan is the other. They are far from being a middle of the road team in Utah. I don't bye into Region 1 teams at all.

    @ Braxton.
Region 1 doesnt schedule any top teams in the country. Jordan is 8-0 against the patsy region 1 teams. That is since 2010. Ask Davis how exiting out of the first round of the playoffs feels 2 years in a row. Region 1 football doesn't match up well with Jordan's style. Ask Fremont this year last year and in 2010. Same with the Lancers.

Again, like I said about Jordan. We have much better teams that would represent Utah better this year. Alta and Jordan are middle of the road. East, Syracuse would represent.

@proudbigbrother. Are you serious. Alta only scored against their 3rd string kids. What to you mean strong finish? The game was over in the first quarter, when they took most of the starters out.

I'm glad Lucero was able to pick his head up after his worst half of the season and play a great second half, finishing with 309 yards passing against an incredible team! He had some excellent plays in the second half, especially that scramble pass to Richards for a TD! Congrats on surpassing the 2,000 yards passing mark, Chipper!

Ammon Barker and Mack Richards were standouts, for sure, each making big plays once Chipper was on his game! Barker had lots of yardage after some good catches to setup touchdown drives, which Richards brought home.

Tough first half, but a good finish to be proud of, out scoring one of the best teams in the country 24-21 in the second half. A team that only allows 10 point a game on average.
