I had the opportunity to coach Braden Miles for a few years in Little League, he's a great kid. I havent been able to understand why he has not started all year. If there were any questions as to his ability to do the job I am sure there arn't any now. Job well done.

It was also great to see Joe Malenga and Braxton Smith and Garrett Harris play for Bingham whom I also had the opportunity to coach.

Nice job boys and best of luck to all of you on the remainder of your seasons.

    Re; Bingham Alum

In 2009 there was a 2 qb system Cantwell and Hannay

#30 Is a running back as always has been, He's the one that averaged about 10 yards a carry the other night.

Bingham actually plays more of a tampa 2 against those teams. Didn't play very much mad at all the other night. and when they did it was in a nickel package that was man with two safeties over the top. I guess you didn't really know the scheme to well when you were there.

As a former All-State DB from Bingham it is not the matter of the athletic ability of the Bingham's DBs, it is a matter of the defensive coaching staff at Bingham leaving them on an island constantly. The front 7 at Bingham is always dominant, because of that the Bingham defensive scheme is to bring a relentless blitzing package majority of downs. It is impossible for any DB (for any team) to play man to man all game long. The front 7 always gets the credit, but whenever the Bingham DBs get apparently picked apart it is because that front 7 does not get near enough pressure. This has been the case in the recent Bingham success beginning in 07. How about mix up a defensive scheme against spread offenses (LP, Jordan, Alta) and not putting so much pressure on the DBs? These spread offenses are starting to figure out how to attack this blitzing scheme.

This game was very Horrible as a bingham fan to watch.

Its been the typical Bingham, They have a awesome front 7 u cant run on!

But what is Binghams weakness every year???

Corners and Safetys, and Lone Peak got a gift with the better throwing backup QB, and he was smart, Throw to both of my D1 caliber recievers, who are muchhhhh bigger and stronger then the Bingham DBS,

The starting QB ran everyttime he dropped back where the 2nd string realized throw it to your athletic wide outs! they are much more athletic then binghams, just get past the bingham front 7 AND its easy.

Lost to them and Alta by 4 total points! becuase of one thing! BAD PASS Defense!

Im so sick of the dual QB options Bingham does year in and year out!
won it in 07' dusty heap only QB to play, in 09, 10 you have one QB in Cantwell,

Pick one and stay with that! unreal, Tonga has the bursts, but you keep doing wide pitch lefts to #30 who is not a RB!

    Thats something that doesnt happen!

Great game last night and a nice comeback by LP. There were enough turnovers by both teams to lose that game and Bingham had their chances in the 1st half to put the game away. They didn't and couldn't stop a hot QB who came in the 2nd half to lead LP to the win. I'm not sure where the mindset comes from that if you're a senior and just because you've lived in one spot your whole life, that means it's your time to start on a team? Get over that and go with the player who will help your team win the most games. Kids transfer and move all the time. If the senior QB was head and shoulders the best above the junior QB then he likely would've been starting and playing most of the minutes. He did start the first game against Bountiful and they lost so both of them have had off nights. With that said, he was the hotter of the QB's last night and did an great job, along with the defense to lead the Knights to the win.

It was great to see Miles come in and lead his team to victory. Great performance by the young man who is a senior and been there his whole high school career.

I really enjoyed this game, it was exciting. Loved seeing kids that grew up around here and that I coached when they were young do well. Even though Highland is a split city as far as high schools is concerned, and my kids attend American Fork, it is still great to see all of the kids we've known for a decade do great things at both schools. Love it.

Hope LP's QB is alright. this was a great game even with all the turnovers and mistakes. Bingham's management of the game late was atrocious, after getting a big pass play to just try two pitiful run plays was bad. Bingham will bounce back at least I am hoping

As an avid LP fan and supporter, I honestly can't see why Miles isn't the starter. When you run the spread, you need someone who can pass the ball. Miles certainly has that ability and can even run pretty well too. Too bad that a kid can move in because he doesn't like his current situation and displace a kid who should be the starter. Come on Tony!

    you are something else.

Just take your beating and give props to Lone Peak. Only thing that matters is scoreboard.

You always have excuses...cmon. Wasnt that impressed with LP? Well all that comment does is cut your team down becasue they lost to them. Quit critisizing the coaches and man up. You lost.

I wasn't that impressed with LP really. I could see them losing a region game or 2 possibly. Probably not though. But I think Bingham can overcome this and still win on the road in the 2nd round. But it was a costly loss for sure.

Bingham shot their selves in the foot time after time with turnovers and costly penalties. But this game came down to Bingham being totally out coached! They take 2 timeouts on the drive just before LP went down for the winning score. Instead of taking the delay of game on 4th down to give them an extra 5 yards to work with, and punting it away and try to pin them deep, they go for it. Even if it goes into the end zone, it's still an extra 25 yards they make LP go to get the score. Poor calls all night long. On the 4th and 25 play that Shumway scored on, how are there no safeties back deep? Bingham could run at will on them, and continued to put themselves in 3rd and long situations by incomplete passes on 2nd down. Bingham should have won that game by 2 touch downs!
