Yankeedoodle, what say you about the big rivalry game coming up? Is it finally Wasatch's year? Remember last year City wasn't doing too well either and your kids thought the game was a lock and we both know how that turned out. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that at least you keep it close this year, although I think both offenses can score at will, I think we'll slow your passing game and you can't stop our run/pass combo,(remember, this was your kid, you didn't want him) it will be city by 6, 47-41

I must have misunderstood the scheduling. I'm guessing he scheduled that game as Homecoming as opposed to scheduling an "easier" game for a guaranteed win. Gotta love that small town rumor mill! I appreciate the kind words and am certainly not professing that we will win this game. I'm sure it will be the toughest opponenet we've seen since, well, playing DH last year. Region 9 is definitely the deepest! Not to say there aren't talented teams in each of the 4 3A regions. It's been fun to watch our kids succeed, but, unlike some, I'm not suffering from delusions of grandeur! My post was simply to ask why there are people who would take the time to post mean-spirited comments directed at 17 & 18 year old kids. I can't wait to see how it goes on Friday and am hoping for a nice close game.

OneManWolfPack- Last week you had Stansbury ranked 6th, but then later said that "like Stansbury, you play no one" talking either about PV or Wasatch, no one is sure because you never responded. So is DH now a "no one" too? Since they are playing Stansbury this week, and you did say that Stansbury plays "no one" then we must assume that you mean DH isn't very good. I guess that's why you say it "should be a good game". mmmm.....It's apparent now why you run alone in the pack.

Actually it was Desert Hills who called and set up the game with Stansbury because they couldn't find a Northern team to play week 2. Desert Hills coaches and kids believe that Stansbury is a quality program that will be tough to beat and wanted to schedule them again to get their team ready for the region 9 teams that run the double and single wing. Good luck to both. Should be a good game.

Binhamalum, or is it JDSuperfan? Well, whatever it is, I think every one on here knows how to read, thus, we all realize JD is 6-0 and ranked #2, because, well, ya, because we know how to read. Should we just have JD and Hurricane play now and avoid any potential injuries that could occur to either team, or should we let the season play out and have some fun with what might happen? I don't know, call me old fashioned, but I like to save the trophy presentations until AFTER a team wins. Just sayin'...

Even as an Alta fan, I have to give credit where it's due; Jordan is the better team this year. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't love it if Alta got another shot at them ;) But I've said it before, if someone is going to beat Jordan, I think it'd have to be Syracuse. Then again, maybe I should hold off on that statement and say that whoever wins the matchup between Northridge and Syracuse will be the team to upset Jordan.

And on the topic of Syracuse vs Northridge, this is going to be a monster clash! It deserves as much attention as other big matchups of the year; ie Alta vs Bingham, Alta vs Jordan, Jordan vs East, Bingham vs Lone Peak, etc. And yet, somehow, Bingham vs Lone Peak is slated as the "Matchup of the week", when I can esily see Syracuse or Northridge in the championship game before either Binghsm or Lone Peak. I hope they broadcast S vs N on some level! Can't wait to see what happens!

@binghamalum, well since your only hope is Region 1 teams in the playoffs, thats too bad, because you seem to hate them... Alta obviously can't beat Jordan. And Bingham can't get past Alta... Looks like Northridge and Syracuse are your only hopes... Too bad.

No one worries about Stansbury because,

3A is a two team race!

I even feel it may be a one team race!

Has no one realized that Juan Diego is 6-0
That they played TWO 4a teams, beat them! Skyline and Springville.
    Killed Granger by 40 points.
Beat the #1 2a team Manti!
I have another feeling the state rolls through two teams in 3A. JD AND Hurricane.

Oh and Good for Jordan, not only are you up like 35-0 in the 2nd quarter.... YOU ALLOW your QB to Throw the ball, and score 8 Passing TDS!!!!
Real Class from the KJAR man from Wyoming.
If you score 54 points on running fine.... But you HAD AUSTIN in till end of 3rd quarter.
How rediculous do you look, and I think everyone can agree with me.....

We want Jordan to lose. I dont even care if they go 11-0 and lose the final.
    But someone beat Jordan.

Just because many disagree with Stansbury's ranking is no reason to get upset. I would be happy if it was our team. I'd post every comment that says were over ranked on the bul board. DH is a top four Reg 9 team and you can hush your critics with a big win.

Little Christiansen at Standsbury? I thought little Christiansen helps coach Hurricane. I'll bet my whole herd of sheep and my single wide that desert hills beats stansbury.

Impressed- Usually, it's because some dads put way too much importance on the rankings. They treat it like it's the BCS or something. Most of us know that it's wins that matter and especially in the playoffs. Root on your team like they are the best, because as parents that's what we all do. You should be proud of your team last night, because Morgan is a good team, and it's a tough place to play.
Beat DH and silence the critics.

It is appears to be tough to win at Morgan, as there have been many great teams to go up there and lose. Congrats to the Stansbury Stallions. Next week should be a good test for them against Desert Hills. I've seen them play a couple games, and they seem like tough kids with a lot of heart.

Why is everyone so full of animosity toward Stansbury? Is it a personal insult that they have put together a program that's thriving? I realize their schedule is weak. After two years with three total wins in Region 6, anyone would schedule games that could give them some confidence going into region play. These "easy" preseason games were scheduled before they ever started winning. When Desert Hills knocked them out of the playoffs last year, Coach Christiansen immediately scheduled them for homecoming!

To the adults who post here: if you support your team, please do! High school football should be something that brings communities together, as it has here! Why fill these boards with such hate toward teams you have absolutely no personal stake in! Are we seriously spending energy to tear down a program in its infancy that has enjoyed some success? Aren't we supposed to be the grown-ups here?

From the looks of things, there were five games that did not disappoint...
5A: Alta beating Brighton in a slugfest. Possibly the game of the night.
4A: Logan rallying to beat Roy--Give the Roy coaching staff & players kudos for turning that program around.
4A: Skyline edging Herriman--the Eagles proved to be a much tougher team than Herriman anticipated.
3A: Stansbury nipping Morgan in OT--The Ponies' first test against a decent team
3A: Dixie outlasting Desert Hills--Flyers assert themselves as Region 9's second best team.

I expected these games to be good matches and it appears that the fans got their money's worth.

The stats are wrong for the Duchesne/LCA game. It should be "McKade Nielsen grabbed two interceptions — totaling four in the past two weeks — as Duchesne pounded LCA. Trent Roberts had 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns, Kaden Moon had 123 rushing yards and one score, and JOSH Hanberg had 54 rushing yards and a touchdown."
