I think all of us in Kamas was expecting a better game. We were most defiantly out coached. But we shouldn't be surprised by the outcome, this happens every year. If we are not winning by 20 points then our coach doesn't know what to do. We have no one on the staff that knows how to motivate the kids when their down. The half time looker room was quite. No adjustments were made. It was clear to me that we didn't do our homework on Manti. Don't get me wrong it would have been difficult to beat them if we had some coaching. Manti has a great program and the whole 3A thing is no excuse. They clearly knew to avoid playing head to head with #5 Hayden Packard and #2 Porter Santos. But just like the semi final last year, the defensive coaching was good but our offence couldn't capitalize. Manti knew who could cover their receivers and who would have a problem. 2+2=4, watch the film coach it's not rocket science. It's obvious Manti did. Thanks to KSL being there sorry for the blowout.

I don't see Millard spoiling the party this year. Although I was quite suprised they beat a much larger (physically & numbers) Emery team. Hopefully the 3A schools playing in 2A including Manti, Emery, & Richfield will get moved back to 3A when the six classifications for football starts in fall 2013. But I will give props to Manti's coaching staff, they outcoached Millard's staff last year in the State game bigtime. Although it is not hard to prepare for Millard's offense they only run about 10 different play's and never change formations. It is time to get a new offense, the inverted bone only works if you have an outstanding QB that can actually run the option.

    To EJB,
I looked it up in two different places and came up with 485 enrolled in GCHS from one place and 486 from the other. San Juan was 409. So to compare Moab with Richfield, Manti, or any other 2A school with 600 kids is ridiculous. San Juan has a great football program, always has, probably will as long as the coaching doesn't change. Moab has a young team, and we'll be happy to have a winning season. I see San Juan vs Manti in the finals, if Millard doesn't spoil the party again!

Rankings mean nothing! The only thing that counts is who is leading at the end of the Championship Game!

The North is getting pretty interresting with Manti dominating SS, who dominated Millard, who dominated Emery, who was leading, but eventually lost to Manti by 1. Will be fun to see what happens when SS plays Emery and Millard plays Manti.
Manti still #1 in my book. We'll have to see what the DNews says.
EJB, sorry you don't get any competition in the South, but at least your JV gets alot of experience.

If it was that simple, Richfield and Moab would be more competitive.

It's pretty easy to be tough in 2A when you have over 600 students in your school.

It sounds like the most prepared coach won in 2A again. 2A north certainly has better teams than 2A south. When will San Juan ever have competition in their region?
