There is no denial. The fact is every football player at the U gets their ankle taped if they don't already wear a brace. I don't know exactly what's going on with JWIV's foot, but I do know that a player getting taped is not proof, or even evidence, that they are injured.

    Two for Flinching

Funny response... "That's not an injury, it's what many players do to prevent injury."

"You cannot believe how much tape a college team goes through each year.

    Two more "fans" in denial

Any more news on that rolled ankle of John White's? Yeah, that's why he taped his ankle last Friday, not because its OK. He's hurting, people notice these things.

ESPN - College Football Nation Blog

"Kevin: BYU 35, Utah 27: I think Utah will play inspired football given this week's turn of events. But last week we saw that the offensive line concerns are graver than we all initially thought. Bronco Mendenhall saw it too.

"Ted: BYU 28, Utah 24: There's a lot going on at Utah, most notably injury issues. And it's not just quarterback Jordan Wynn. Running back John White and safety Eric Rowe are questionable. But the biggest issue, as Kevin noted, is the disappointing play of the offensive line. "

But the icing on the cake this Ute season will be... the Aggies beat the Utes.

    Go Aggies against Wisconsin!

    Go BYU!

Chris B, I hope you put some money on this game, in fact you seem so confident put your entire paycheck for the month on it."

    I think you meant "allowance."

That is the funniest thing that I have heard in years. The Y's defense is better than Utah States defense. Anderson is a much better defensive coach than Bronco is. I guess the Y's center is also better than Star Lotulelei as well? He was getting beat every play by a Wever State nose guard. If that continues to play out, which I know that it will, Star, and the rest of the UTES defensive line will be getting to Riley Nelson on almost every play, and they will make him throw into bad situations. Get ready to see some wounded ducks being thrown around Rice Eccles.

After this game we will once again hear John White say; I can't believe we lost to a team that isn't even in the PAC 10.2.

The best thing that has happened in BYUs favor for this game is Chris B picking Utah to win. This will make him 0-3 on picking BYU to lose this year. Plus the pick for Utah to beat USU, that would make it 0-4. Keep up the good work Chris. BYU & USU needs you to keep picking against them.

I sure hope Kruger doesn't punch anyone in the head this week.

    Sept. 13, 2012 11:52 a.m.

MLH, ChrissyB predicted that BYU would lose to Washington...didn't happen. He also predicted the Utesies would beat Utah State handily...didn't happen. He predicted many similar games last year...once again, didn't happen. His predictions are not in his favor. I wouldn't be "relying on his word" for anything.

@snack pac yeah you mean like how byu got embarrassed 2 games in a row with a horrible texas team 17-16 then got ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSED at your OWN place against utah 54-10, then you luckily with 2 prayers beat ut state on your own field (in front of the glorious 64,000 seat stadium) *roll eyes*, then ucf beat themselves against you even as terribly pathetic as they were they shoulda won, then that absolutely hilarious BEATDOWN tcu put on you. they beat you by 17 but you scored a garbage td to make it look closer than it actually was (as all you y fans like to claim happened with the U against washington. oh and lets not forget that other VERY LUCKY win against a very horribly terrible ole miss team that won all of 3 games last year hahahah. yeah you fans with all your spinning on every article to make your team look half decent shows with how dizzy you all seem when you post.

    Spokane Ute

Totally agree, isn't it fun to think that there are byu players that know that they can't beat Utah.

    Black & Blue

Don't you just get tired of people saying, this team is better "on paper". Seniors can loose just as well as freshman.

You cannot believe how much tape a college team goes through each year, (I heard a taped ankle?)

ChrisB knows Utah football and how it's going to end up but by some fluke why should he bet is entire pay check, rent, food, and thithing he has to live.

    Stay the Course

ChrisB He has predicted a whole bunch of stuff that has come true, I rely on his word. You guys just can't take it that he is right 95% of the time. That score looks about right, I personally was going to give the cougs another 3 pts but what the heck 10 is also good.

    Snack Pac

    BYU cannot beat Utah.

I just wonder if BYU fans will credit Utah, or make excuses, after the Utes win? My guess is the later of the two. The Utes are in BYU's head. Especially after last year. With this game in SLC, no way the Utes lose!

Making predictions for this game is completely worthless. Last year, on paper BYU was easily the better team. but they came out and played terribly, gave away a few and let Utah take a few turnovers. And we all know how that turned out.
With a senior heavy BYU team which has plenty of experience and talent on both sides of the ball, I would guess BYU has the edge. But Utah has a defense that can keep the weak offense in most games. If the ball bounces Utah's way a couple times with turnovers, this could easily be another routing in Utah's favor. Hopefully both teams come out hard and give us something to remember for the next couple years, until Utah's AD gets his head around the obvious and lets the rivalry continue.

As far as John White getting a 100 yards, not going to happen, in fact I don't think the Utah team get's the 100, well unless they rush 40 to 50 times which is possible. BYU's defense is better than Utah States so unless somehow the Cougars hand the ball over again and again they win. Of course I've never seen a team win as ugly as Utah does, they have more ugly wins than anyone in the country, so they may find a way to stay in it.

Chris B, I hope you put some money on this game, in fact you seem so confident put your entire paycheck for the month on it. Then next time maybe you'll think before you speak. It's true Utah could win it is a rivaly game and so you can throw the record out the window but it won't even be close to what you think. So please bet all you have, show me how confident you really are.

...the Utes responded from a tough loss at USC with a 54-10 victory over BYU in Provo the next week.

"We came back that next game and we did exceptionally well," White said. "I feel like the same thing is going to happen this year."

Then the Utes were blown out in back-to-back home meltdowns by Washington 14-31 and Arizona State 14-35, followed by a road loss to California 10-34, a bare survival against 4-win WSU in OT, and a season-ending beat down at home by pathetic Colorado.

Unfortunately for U, you face the same fate again this year, only without the satisfaction of having a lone highlight courtesy of the BYU turnover gift parade.

Excuse me for being somewhat skeptical about believing anything a Ute player says about their current health condition.

So if John fails on Saturday to perform up to that 100% stated today, I'm sure the fanbase will take him to task for it like some did to Jordan.

Now I don't know if the rumors about John's injuries that have been floating around this week are true or not (I heard a taped ankle?) but if he has any performance issues like was exhibited last Friday... be prepared for another beatdown.

    Sept. 12, 2012 8:57 p.m.

Lots of speculation that JW IV wouldn't play this week. Hopefully that is not the case and we see Utah play better than last week.
